@darkangel294 not very far, you'd be suprised what a huge different a $40 coole/ good thermal paste makes. If ur thinking of o.c'ing get a cooler, then you will not have to worry about temps as this'll be the last thing you'll want to concern yourself with when overclocking. There are far more perplexing issues to snag on such as voltages and memory timings. If you want to try oc'ing on factory fan go for it, just watch your temps, most BIOS will shut you down anyway at 100deg.
Hi I want to overclock my CPU (2.66GHZ I5-750). I want to get to 3.4 Ghz. I bought the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 heatsink. My setup: ATI 6950 2GB, 4 GB DDR3 1333 (Corsair), I5-750 2.66, Corsair GS600 (PSU) (+12 V = 48A).
I want to know how should I set the BIOS parameters. Thanks for your time.
why switch on turboboost? ur cpu runs @20x210=4.2ghz and turbo boost sets multiplier to 21 ON 1 CORE right?. So cpu-z showed 4.4 ghz at 1 temporarily turboboosted core . i dont saw a 4.4ghz quadcore cpu. Enbaling turbo, enables speedstep and the cpu slows down all the time.
My I5 runs all 4cores @ 20x200 @1.3875v vcore and 1.234v cpu pll
you fry it @ 1.42vcore1.31v PLL... dude this seems like a good movie for a laugh when you found out how to use the pc thing right. gigabyte board different?
Yea I have a big trinergy mb that stays extremely cool and a giant thermaltake cpu cooler with a push pull system and good air flow in my case and my i5 couldnt run stable like this so do prime95 and see how many errors there actually are.
Hey man im gonna overclock my cpu but i wanna hear what you are gonna say about this "i5 750 normal cooler and overclocking to 3ghz" is that good or bad ;D?
sry wrong post whit fake, it's a i5 750(i was see 2 OC in the same time) but that voltaje are really to much, and when do OC disable C1e state, c6/7 state, thermal monitor, eist function and bidirectional prochot.
it's a fake, it's not a intel i5 750 because i5 750 doesn't have Intel Hyper-Threading Technology maybe it's a i5 650 or i3 (bought have 2 procesor whit Intel Hyper-Threading Technology), whit voltaje 1,425 and Load-Line Calibration will extra voltaje the processor at about 1,47. Intel specify at i5 750 voltaje are from 0.65 to 1.4v. If you try to do a Over Clock like this guy you will SURE BURN THE PROCESSOR
which gigabyte board are you using? i've just ordered a core i5 750, Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 and 4gb corsair dominator 1600mhz ddr3 memory. i already have a h50 cooler. hope to reach at least 4ghz.
Mine is running at 4 GHZ, with Corsair H50, cpu volts 1.38750 Qpi volts 1.230, and CPU PLL volts at 1.88 it is very stable and will easily go more, running prime 95 it hit like 78c, the i series are good to 99c. I had it to 3.7 GHZ on factory air cooler running prime95 and it hit 97c. Very easy to OC this CPU and very stable with P55 boards. Its cheap and you can make them fly.
put a ZEROtherm CORE92 om that pupy and its max temp at MAX load will be 74C.
i have mine at 4.6 Gz and in a nzxt beta evo with all 6 fans and its runs at a nice max temp of 69C, im just waiting to get 2 GTX 480 femi's and get those in sli and im ready to go :D
i5 is a lot easier to over clock, it also has a better turbo mode multiplier, uses less power, more reliable stock voltages.
if you knew anything about computers you would know the only difference between them is the 4 virtual cores from HT than equate to little more than a slight gain in clock speed
@SFhelper if you knew anything about computers both the i5 and i7 are easy to overclock. And hyperthread makes a more then "slight" gain on high loads.
hyper threading is a gimmick and the i5 750 is insanely easy to overclock..... i got it to 3.7 on stock voltage and 4.1 with turbo enabled without any effort.
@SFhelper overclocking in general is very easy I dont see how any overclocking with iseries, amd or any other cpu could be hard. You keep saying easy , easy ,easy all overclocking is simple. Hyperthreading is not a gimick. Is it are good as physical cores of course not, but its still a major variable that anyone would like to have.
as far as i know ther is no difference between 1600 and 2000, google it ,i have 1333 in tri channel, get same benchmarks , ,nothing impressive, ,for 1156 system go with 1600 + and plus cuz its in dual channel, for 1366 - max 1333 ,, ,
maan, if you are a noob at oc-ing, prime 95 will be fuckin your mind ,you should have seen how many times ive been getting blue screens on a simple oc ,, turns out i need to lower vcores instead of increasing them
it's actually funny that people watch this video think wow 4.4Ghz! yes it boots to windows now run 8 hours of prime95 or more and lets see how many fails it gets if none Gz on a good overclock but personally i think it'll fail under stress. prove me wrong or GTFO
I use 3.2GHz on the stock cooler... if that is all you want then I would not worry about using the 212, I am going to get the same cooler and try to get 3.6ghz(or 3.8ghz)
