I love how this starts in the realm of the probable, practical and sensible, and it ends with Iori wanting to know if you mad 'cause he's stylin' on you.
@nothingxs It's one of my favourite pieces of music in any game to date. It stands on its own as a really competent work of art even outside the context of the soundtrack IMO.
I tend to prefer making impractical stuff since you see so few people willing to record it, and classic Iori has mostly pretty boring B&Bs in my opinion.
Plus if you can pull off any of these when you know your combo will KO regardless then it's an amazing way to get the opponent flustered.
@mintystale It's really weird how that Neomax cancel can whiff. It does so quite often if you cancel out of the super as early as possible, but some hits (like hit 4) may or may not whiff all other things being equal.
@ninjapiraka In my opinion they're way too hard for casual players to start playing. The vast majority of fighting games barely even explain all of their mechanics to an unfamiliar player, let alone teach you how to use them *well*.
Then there's the question of whether complicated move inputs are good design in the first place. Can you imagine playing a Quake derivative and having to press 5 buttons in a specific rhythm just to fire your rocket launcher, while rocket jumping?
@SFtheWolf if you are not willing to put in the time to learn how to play the game why even get the game. All the info you need is available online if you look for it.
@Curakill I don't think that a person should be expected to play a game only if they're going to take it to a competitive level.
Also, people don't have to do side research just to get moves to come out in any other genre, and if they have to put in *extra* work just to get the same amount of satisfaction from a game, they'll look elsewhere.
Starcraft 2 is a great example of a competitive game that has some really in-depth training exercises to help new players become pros. Why not have that?

@SFtheWolf i prefer the gameplay to be difficult. i get bored of SSF4 and UMVC3 way too easily. I like the challenge and the artwork KoF brings to the table
@FantasticFranco That's interesting you find SSF4 too easy. I personally gave that game up primarily because I got sick to death of matches being determined by who dropped fewer pointlessly difficult 1 frame links.
Oh dear Iori, how I have missed your flames so much.
