I Love this music! I'm from Martinique and we also have Bèlè dance but we forgot most ritual for orishas. As we still are a French departement, we lost a part of our identity. I'm really looking for that everywhere in the caribean islands. Thanks for videos! I hope one day i'll go back to Trinidad to see that!
Ps: Do you use ritual of orishas for the stick fight?
in Dominica we also have the Bele, well the 5 diffrent kinds of Bele, you notice the the beating of the drums are identical to Bele and the way of singing.
A true religion is the one that takes the people's culture into consideration. This is exactly what is happening. Good work. Keep it up. Love from Ghana.

rightly said.any religion that teaches someone to deny his or her identity, is nothing short of a tool to control people. nothing but love to you over there in Ghana, from the caribbean
@icacaonline rightly said. Any religion that says you should walk away from your culture is no religion, it's nothing but a tool to conquer, and the reality is so many of our people have been and still conquered. Never get so comfortable in another man's house, that you forget to build your own. AFRICANS RECLAIM YOUR IDENTITY. Stay bless
Now this is what I call culture and religion. Its very much like my own. In most religions ppl pray to God. In my culture and ones such as this, ppl become God.
i came from cuba and i tell you that i like it very much .many of the lirics we sing them as well in cuba the music is diferent and the drums look like something we call iyesa .Beatifull love it
PD: Excuse me friend... here in Venezuela the yoruba culture got about 80% popularity in the venezuelan population....what's the popularity percentage in Trini? I'm babalawo so i wanna know that cuz i want visit Trini maybe the next mont.
Orisha music :D that music sound in Venezuela too...Orisha music has been named like a Venezuelan culture...here in Venezuela we got manny influence from Trini !!! Trini & Venezuela is like the same country :P ...Grettings from Margarita Island here in Venezuela ,nice video :)
@lord....here in the usa, we have lost our spiritual sense, also.but, with the influx of Caribbean pl and AFRIKANS,we are finding ourselves again.MAFEREFUN GBOGBO IBAYE!!
@omoorisha07 In trinidad there are no lyrics, your grandparents sang these songs and they sang them to you when you were a child and you grew with the translations. The orishas are a people just like the Jews.
You can take somebody from is homeland but you can never take their spirit look at this yoruba people in trinidad and tobago Als yoruba when i hear this music if feel the spirit of my people, carry
on Orisha will never forshake you people. Thank for holding on to your through identity, for people that turn against their identity will sure live in confusing. Culture, identity are related to human spirit. When this mised in someone life there will be know way carry on,carry on

@ trinisoul21 we don't become God... we are just instruments of his work. Manifestations is just one way in which God shows us that he is alive.
