  • Comment removed

  • Yes, I have 4 bands total. I will show more pictures on my next video. I'm not sure about the attachment. It's just attached to the wire.

  • Hey thanks for the reply. I'm not sure about your answer though -- I thought you said you had 8 bands total ? If anything I guess I'll just see what you mean when you post the next video.

  • Sorry, you're right. This video I have 8 bands total. I was thinking the comment was on the video where I had 4 bands. I believe both sets of my back brackets are the same. The wire goes through both and the power chain connects to the 1st band via the lower lip on it. I'm not sure if that makes sense but I will put pictures in my next video. =)

  • Sorry ! cut off be4 finishing.... so I decided 2 just get a chin implant it has da same visible results and its way less painfull and way less expensive here its about $2,700 so I,m doing that. Do some reseach & let me know what U think...

  • Interesting. My ortho said it was out patient surgery and not very painful. Hmmm...I will definitely be researching this. Thanks for the info! Right now my husband isn't working so I will definitely have to wait until after my braces come off. I wonder why my ortho recommended the surgery instead of the implant. The implant sounds like a huge savings and definitely less painful than having your chin cut off and screwed back on!!! Let me know what you decide.

  • Yea My ortho recomended the surgery too & then I started to research but i did decided to go with the implant. That other surgery is better 4 severe chin deformity or for severe overbite/ underbite. talk to your ortho ask him if you really need this or is just cosmetic. And let me know what you decide....

  • The surgery you're having its called Orthognatic surgery, I have braces now but @ first my ortho sugested I had this done (my chin is kind of like yours) well I started googleing about it & its a very painfull surgery, sometimes they need to close ur mouth shut 4weeks & b on a liquid diet & its horribly expensive. 4 me it would cost $10,000...

  • I'm thinking that I'm probably prolonging my treatment also. =( If these canker sores would stay away, I would wear them all the time.

  • Your hair looks so nice.

Braces looks good on you. Sweet.

  • Thanks!

  • I wonder why some people, like you, have so full mouth with braces. I wear braces and nobody see that when I have my mouth closed. Is it because of clips size or individual mouth anatomy?

  • I know that the clear braces (on my top)are bulkier than normal braces. But I think it has to do with everyone's individual mouth anatomy.

  • But it doesn't chaneg the fact you are very pretty :) With braces and without.

  • Thank you!!! =)

  • I had to wear the bands twice; First time to fix my overbite a bit more, and the second time to fix my sidebite :S

A tip: Sometimes I totally forgot to wear my bands haha so what I would do was wear 4 bands (2 on each side) at night. It pulls tighter and yes it sometimes hurts but it definitely works haha! Cause after I began doing that, my overbite/sidebite improved (:

  • Thanks for the advice! My husband told me the same thing. I thought he was crazy but now I'm going to do that!

  • i am getting mine ON in a week and i am SUPER nervous. any helpful pointers would help and also an answer to this question:

    Does it Hurt???

  • no it doesnt hurt had them put on 3 days ago get damon braces there quicker and better

  • It doesnt actually hurt at first, it just feels really weird. But a few hours after I got them on, they did hurt haha. For the first week or so they will hurt. Just take advil and don't each too many crunchy foods. Don't be nervous!

  • They will be sore for a few weeks but it's not that bad. Just take ibuprofen and eat soft foods. Nothing to be nervous about.

  • I like your braces!

You're very hot with them ;)

  • Thanks

  • when they're off, it feels like heaven,so just wait and c =)

  • yea i hate the triangle fitted rubberbands but gladly i aint gotta wear em any more cuz im gettin off next tues.

they look good on you btw

  • Thank you! Good to know that you survived the rubberbands. I feel like this is the hardest part. They are awful.

  • haha yea

i got em off and it was definitly worth the wait

dont loose focus of your goal

  • I have had my braces now for 2 months. I also have an expander in the roof of my mouth. Thanx for sharing your progress...It excites me! I can't wait!! :D

    Your smile is looking great!!

  • I get braces on the 24th and I have to have and expander too. Does it hurt?

  • Thanks! It's amazing how quickly your teeth start moving, very exciting.

  • I got braces in November with no extractions so far. Did you have extractions?

  • I do not have to have any extractions. My next appointment my orthodontist is actually going to file in between a few of my teeth to make up for a little bit more room that I need.

  • Ive been wearing bracess for a year! yeay gonna get it of soon xD gudluck!

  • yay! i loved disney world when i went a few years ago! hope you have a great time with your family!

  • Thank You! We did!!! I want to move there. When you're at Disney World it's like there are no worries and you can be a child again and let go. Love Disney World!

  • i was told that the whole process will take upto 18 months, its been 10 months now, however they have put in the last wire and told me that they are "finishing off", so i dont know if that means that the braces will be coming off sooner than expected. I really hope so... but im not going to get my hopes up, just incase i have to have them on for 8 more months.

  • How exciting!!! It sounds to me like you are getting close.

  • DISNEY WORLD!

Anyways, so you've had them on for 8 months now. How can you judge the first 8 months? I get mine on in a couple weeks. I really am wondering what they'll be like by August when I go back to school at WMU.

    Thanks!

  • Disney World was great!!!

Anhow...You will be used to your braces by then and they won't feel so awkward. Your lips sort of mold around them and you learn to speak without a lisp. By then you will learn also what you can and can't eat in public. =)

  • i had my consultation today! i get braces in 2 weeks. "radiance" clear on top and metal on bottom. i have had braces before about 15 yrs ago...but i am very nervous now.

  • Good for you! I was nervous too. You'll be fine though. Things have changed a lot since then and are more advanced so it probably won't even be as "bad' as you remembered that long ago. I never had them before this, so my fear was of the unknown and also of how they would look. The clear on top I believe is the best way to go. Nobody really looks at your bottom teeth anyway.

  • I've had my braces for 8 months too!!!!

  • Yay us!!!

  • thanks for the update. your teeth are looking great! have fun at disney world!

  • Thank You!

  • hello Jess, interesting video, dificult to speak with those rubber bands isn´t it??

The changes in this 8 months are important. Vas a tener una bonita sonrisa, animo. Tu marido y familia estaan orgullosos y contentos. suerte

  • Thanks! Yeah, it was very difficult to speak. I felt like my mouth had been wired shut at first and when I tried to open it that my teeth were going to be pulled out. Gracias! Es usted muy amable.

  • What else are you wanting to get done? just curious

  • I'm not exactly sure yet. I was really tiny when I got pregnant with my son. I gained 50 pounds while pregnant. I've lost all of it but about 5-10 pounds but I want my pre-baby body back. =( I would like to have another baby though before having anything done...so we'll see. I'm only 26 but after some people have a baby their body changes dramatically and I am one of those.

  • ye i know what you mean, i have two of my own, and im 29. Im also one of those who's body has changed. But im too afraid to get any work done. Getting braces has been the only thing that i have been gain enough to do cosmetically.

I enjoy watching your videos, because i know exactly what your going through. ive had them on for about 10 months now. I cant wait till it is over.

  • I'm scared too but I know that as I get older things will get worse and gravity won't help.=) Exercise can't fix excess skin and other issues like that. Maybe I will document that experience also. LOL How much longer do you have left until your braces come off?
