Do a youtube search for General Lee jump car build. These jump cars are rotted out junkyard cars that are too far gone to restore that they make look decent enough for this purpose. They're not restored Chargers!

@earniemanson First, I'm not a redneck. Second, did you do a search for General Lee Jump Car Build??? There is no way that car could have been restored. Instead of it going to the crusher it got used one more time. Go watch that video, then post up what you think.
In the original show, there were different engine sizes used in the hundreds of Chargers they trashed. The jump cars usually had the largest engine, which had a tendency to make the cars nose-dive. To avoid nose-dives, the stunt co-ordinators would put hundreds of pounds of sandbags in the back of the car. Perhaps the people doing this stunt here didn't do their homework.
Shame to see a Charger trashed like that.... But great jump attempt 100% commitment from the driver. And rather see any car go like that than left to rot. Good vid, thumbs up

And it's hist to do with as he pleases. That basic body style was very common and not a rare car by any stretch of the imagination. There are still plenty left to destroy.....

While there are some companies like Dynacorn that are reproducing Ford, Chevrolet, and the Challenger shell, there are NO companies that are reproducing the Charger, and not all Chargers were 426 hemis either. The General wasn't a hemi car either. It was either a 383 or a 440 Magnum. While it was never revealed in the show, in the episode "Happy Birthday General Lee" an engine on a stand implies that it is a big block, but not a hemi. You need to get your FACTS straight.

ok.. the dodge charger is a fake, the people who make these movies make these cars out of scrap metal. the car isnt a real dodge charger. if you look at when it crashed, you would notice it caved in only places that were hit. in a real charger the body would have shifted. the muscle cars were built so much stronger than the newer cars.
they should jump japanese cars its not worth crashing a general lee charger for kicks.and anyway the japanese cars are very safe(which takes away half the fun of jumpin a car)

WTF?that was a guy who bult the car as a fake general lee...he new it was gonna crahs...i saw that on tv...plus there was a stuntdriver in there with top of the line safe-t-gear...nothing bad happened.
