  • We had a lot about Saint Saens in school and I really learned to appreciate it. It´s really beautiful. Love Dance Macabre also.

  • Wonderful...it takes me away in that idyllic world, where everything is calm, peaceful, beautiful and serene..

  • Who is the player? So beautiful.

  • Hello, would you please let me know who's the interpreter of this piece, who plays it and the CD which has this version? I really need to know this so i can maybe use it in my work. Thank you.

  • Beatiful

  • beautiful

  • I've lost a Close person Today .. i can't stop crying .. And this just cools me down.. :'(

  • @jamal96jojo death is as much apart of life as living. Each individual life is significant, no matter how many people there are on this planet. That person would want you to make the most out of your life, not let their moving on hinder it's potential

  • I am composing and dancing a short dance [ ballet ] to this. . . I thought it fit my theme of baby swans learning to use their wings very well(: beautiful music

  • Emotionally listening, even crying, why not.

  • This is the best one because it has the best sound.

  • This makes me think I'm a floating princess. <3

  • Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns (09 Oct 1835 – 16 Dec 1921) was a French Late-Romantic composer, and pianist. He composed “The Carnival of the Animals”-a musical suite of 14 Movements (on 14 animals) in Feb 1866 while vacationing in a small Austrian village. After composing became concerned that the piece was too frivolous and likely to harm his reputation. He suppressed performances of it and only published one movement, Le Cygne (The Swan), and arranged to publish the rest after his death.

  • i wish i lived in a world where this was the top itunes hit instead of "we found love." i hate that damn song. THIS is music.

  • I cannot imagine who on earth would dislike a heavenly piece like that. It doesn't matter who plays it, it still sounds DIVINE!!!

  • It was an tonnssedel's

  • ja tuhanteen...

  • tonninsendel

  • Graceful and poignant.

  • i am playing this song on cello!so beautiful...:)

  • I found sheet music for a violin-cello duet of this. I want to play this for contest.

  • This song makes me want to learn the cello. I think its just so beautiful!!!

  • Camille looks like DeNiro

  • Did you know that when he went to the premier of Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" he actually stormed out the concert hall because he claimed that the oboes were not being used correctly! Oh Saint-Saens...

  • i love 'it

  • Truly in love to this piece. <3

  • beautiful

  • Es hermosa esta cancion.

  • I first listened to this when I was 11 years old, I still love it and I'm 15 now <3

  • Every time I hear this song I walk around the room slowly pretending to be a swan

  • @akookamehunga911 Film that and put it on youtube, would be a cool vid :)

  • Bill Bailey introduced me to this song. He played it on cowbells, worth a listen to. Although this with the cello is just sublime.

  • Every time I listen to this I think I'm going to cry, the music is AMAZING!

  • Elle ne m'aime pas, elle ne m'aime pas !!

  • excellent

    Very nice video

    Congratulations

    Thank you for sharing

    kisses

  • One of my ALL TIME favorite creations of music yo. Peace, rhymes, and rhythm.

    ~LE, Cali

  • Playing this song on the cello right now so pretty! It's also helping me with my depression that I've been going through too!

  • It was a tons sedel.

  • Was first exposed to this wonderful music when I wasn't quite seven years old. Now some twenty years later, I still love it. :-)

  • This song came from heaven! It sounds like an angel landed into your computer.

  • And I'm going to play it for him.. When the day comes.

  • amazing!!

  • simply beautiful

  • I lovee the music classiicc for everr

  • serenity

  • @Makkabee82 Uhm.. what? Trying to say this music is the work of the devil or some idiotic BS like that?

  • *song

  • gorgeous... just wonderful. ironic that this sing is so beautiful and sweet when swans are actually horrid hissing messengers of satan...

  • @mangleface100: I think geese can be scarier.

  • im learning this on piano :) its not even been a year since i started, and this is a 3rd grade piece .... :D

  • @fluffyfrumps It should be left in tenor since for cello the main clefts are both bass and tenor and even treble, a good cellist should be able to read all three of them

  • Tonnin seteli

  • lawl hey

  • Sooooo beautiful!

  • i love this song, so beautiful :')

  • My favourite piece to play on the cello, always relaxes me after a stressful day.

  • @fluffyfrumps I thought it was a viola...is it just written in the high register of the cello?

  • @iceflame5 It is mainly written in the tenor clef, so the viola can probably play it. My version was transposed into the bass clef (which is the main clef for the cello)

  • ahhhh....

  • _so nice and pleasant_

  • being graceful, when was the last time we did that in our fast paced life?

  • @freshwaterfour I am always quick yet graceful you clumsy hippo.

  • @freshwaterfour well said my friend, well said...

  • when I listened to this song I get chills and I unexpectedly had a tear cause it touched me so much :)

  • saint-saens made the kind of music where you close your eyes and see a story. his music isn't meant only to be heard; it engages the imagination also. <3

  • Many people think that this piece is a sad, depressing one. It only matters how you enjoy the piece. Imagine you entered a place, where no one had ever discovered, and you continue to live here for the rest of your life, this is a wonderful piece. Continue weeping and saying, "Oh Poor Me!", you may never wake up.

  • this music is just wonderful

  • this was my grandpa's favourite song. he passed away in 2003...brings back good memories listening to this

  • so good... shivers down the spine sort of thing.

  • This should definetly be for the praise and worship of God

listening to this and contemplating the beauty of nature

    how perfect and serene

meditating on our Lord Jesus Christ

    Praise God!

  • @derek44344

what a shame you have to bring you invisible friends to this beautifull piece of music.

Kinda spoiles it for me to hear maniacs like you raving out here.

  • @OkInsanity for me is not a friend is a father and my creator.. respect that and i'll respect you

  • @panchitoborja

So you want me to respect something FAR from normal, something when u actually think about it, is about as bad a seeing ghosts and going to a mental center for it. And for that i get the respect of a loony... Don't get me wrong though, i respect people in mental centers. They usually have some issues that were there when being born. You my friend are a made man, a made madman.

Sry man i just cant do that. I'll respect you as soon as you get help for your mental problems :)

  • @panchitoborja

oh yeh, was looking for a link so here ( a bit late ) it is. Maybe this will help you understand a bit of what goes on in a healthy mind :)

  • @derek44344: go take your "lord" "gawd" AND GO FUCK YOURSELF.

    Fuck you.

  • @lukebccb

    I couldn't possibly agree more!!

  • What key does it modulate to in the middle section?

  • This is one of the only songs i can study to and keep concentration. Truly a song of great wonder xx

  • This is simply one of the most beautiful songs in the world, and my top favorite.

  • How can you not like this? Seriously, it's awesome!

  • It doesn't sound like some dude actually wrote this song. it sounds like it had been there all along, hidden in the human brain, and all the musician had to do was find it. I guess that how you tell the good songs from the best.

  • @mhunterjumper i think its cello

  • "Le jour au fond du jour sauvera-t-il le peu de mots que nous fûmes ensemble?"

    A toi que j'aime.

  • @Passion4theViolin Really? On something like this? Something as beautiful as this? you want a thumbs up? No. Just no.

  • @thefrogger161 I thumbed this up. Because. Just because. Is that a glimmer of genuine musical appreciation? Anarchy!

  • I have just fallen in love.

  • this played on my brother's funeral 2 years ago. tomorrow will be his 22nd birthday.. he was both fragile and very strong personality and I'm proud, not only to had him as a brother, but also to share my life with him for beautiful 15 years. he was the swan in my family. he'll always be in my heart...

  • @JulijaSmrt God's blessings to your brother, my friend. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • @JulijaSmrt same for my granddad, he loved this piece of music, god bless your brother xxxx but he'll be thinking of you where he is :) x

  • @JulijaSmrt Blessings to his soul man!

  • I like this version very much.

  • 15 dislikes??? I wonder who this jerks are?!

  • there's no chance to stem tears...uplifting piece....

  • this is a very beautiful music from an excellent actor.

  • anybody can give me a link to personal Saint Seans youtube profile?

  • Simply beautiful.

  • It always appeared on Ren & Stimpy :')

  • @progressiveRAMONETTI I loved that cartoon for many reasons but one of the main ones was the use of classical music to put the surreal edge on it.

  • When one looks into the haunting eye's of those here long before us,Saint Saens, The Swan, it tells us that this masterpiece of music wasn't only meant for those of his time. Saint Saens was thinking well ahead of his time. It fills me with emotion and It will never stop reminding me that Saint Saens is telling us to love and respect ALL nature including that of mankind.

    Paul & Ryan

  • A harp and a cello together.

What more could you ask for to break your heart?

  • I'm a 67 year old classical music lover as of today, and I have no qualms at all or an iota of hesitation or admission of guilt in admitting that this piece moves to tears absolutely every time I hear it.

  • I'm a 67 year old classical music lover as of today, and I have no qualms at all or an iota of hesitation or admission of guilt in admitting that this piece moves to tears absolutely every time I hear it.

  • I love this particular movement because it Is so graceful and calming. I could listen to this all day, but I also enjoy the rest of the movement that make up 'The Carnival of the Animals'. It seems like he made music to suite my mood exacty!

  • I'm in the Wide Awake Club and this is very soothing : ) and I love to listen to this <3

  • Unfortunately 15 people prefer Bill Bailey's version ='(

  • Totally sublime music and my favorite from Saint-Saens' 'Carnival of the Animals'.

Viva eternamente..

  • why they click the dislike button ?

  • @keltotx

    They stupid. (or they jealous)

  • I'm loving it.

  • Im Learning how to play this on cello. Just a beautiful piece of music :'-)

  • 15 people ned to get their ears fixed.

  • @narissa39 or soul =/

  • @ShrCanIt exactly

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! So beautiful it breaks my heart.

  • This song makes me feel like something I felt before in a distant dream, I feel I can touch it, that I can relate to it but it feels so distant. I want to cling to this feeling, how the music touches me but Im always blurred back by my reality

  • guys check out the chanel musiconcloud9 its just pure awesome what the guy uploads

LOL, I can't help.. :'-D Happy New Year!

  • This is Pure Perfection. The tears just come streaming down my face, it's so powerful...

  • i love this music so much i heard this the first time in a Tomb Raider Christmas level

  • The Emotion you can gather from this is remarkable.......

  • I love Saint-Saens' music very much, but I really think that 'The Swan' should have been written for the double bass originally. The more sonorous tone adds a richness that the cello, bless its wonderful attempts, simply cannot reach.

  • @MrMittendorf thats pretty interesting to think about...

  • When I was 5-10 years old my father played this record for me over and over again, now I played it on his funaral. The best and the worse memory in my life

  • When I'm alone with my future baby for the first time, I'm gonna put this song on and walk slowly around the room while I'm holding my baby :-)

  • @HappyHips87 That's a sweet, lovely thought.

  • @HappyHips87 That is such a sweet thought! :)

  • one of the best arrangements i've heard with the supporting instruments really complementing at the right times.

  • Lovely- the best of the carnival of the animals, in my opinion.

  • Majestic - just like the swan! Very beautiful!

  • Que c'est beau, mais que c'est beau, tellement tellement beau !!!!

    Merci à celui qui m'a conduit jusqu'ici...

    Nathalie

  • I listened to this song when I went into labor with my son, and it instantly calmed me down for the drive there. He's two now, and this song can STILL calm me like no other song. Beautiful.

  • Wonderful.

  • This piece would be fabulous to skate to, I am sure it already has been done.....

  • Har har, this is viola music person. Not even kidding... I am playing it on the viola and the music is for the viola. Although I do get that cello can be higher it would be much easier to play on the viola. Google freakin viola if you don't know >.>

  • @TheWhichata No, this was for cello, even if you are doing it on the viola. I checked several sources that back this up.

  • @TheWhichata Yeah, man, NVanWendy is right. It's been transcribed for any number of instruments, particularly string instruments, but it's originally a cello piece. Maybe you should Google freakin Carnival of the Animals if you don't know.

  • Ganz, ganz wunderbar - DANKE, Camille Saint-Saëns, für die wunderbare Musik und ClassicalMusicOnly für das Video

  • incroyable! :)

  • i cry over and over while listening this song i dont know what's the matter with it ... reminds me of some lost childhood, od russian winters..

  • ultimate bliss

  • @karamuzitsa incroyable

  • How can this song have ANY dislikes?

  • @RAWRITSMEL it has a different instrumentation than the original, sounds like they added more strings or synth instead of 2nd piano, and replaced the 1st piano with harps (even though the pianos always sound harp-like).

  • wow!

  • They played this at my grandad's funeral. Everyone was in tears. Brings back alot of memoery's of my grandad :)

  • My heart just stops and I feel warm and fuzzy inside when I listen to this

  • I feel so many emotions when i listen to this.

  • One of the best piece of classical music ....... thanks for sharing.

  • @ketanisgods You do realize that The Carnival of the Animals is the name for all 14 movements? The Swan is only one of them, so it's not meant to be lively and exciting, it's about a graceful swan.

  • where can i et this PIECE! i cant find it! PIANO! OMG !

  • @personayosuke go to musicnotes

  • Comment removed

  • who's the player?

  • tapping into the divine

  • A feeling of aloneness........

  • @nancyfloressantos that's how I felt

You're part of the music, a child, and it's only you looking at the carnival. You don't hear others but hear your feelings towards what you're seeing. Simply beautiful.

  • Cette musique est vraiment belle, elle est simple, mais elle creuse vers le bas pour votre âme et vous faire réfléchir sur le sens de la vie. C'est la raison pure de la musique. Le meilleur de la musique pour la période romantique!

  • *speechless*

  • Amazing that this single piece of beautiful music can play deep down to our souls and bring out our deepest emotions...this is and always will be my favorite classical piece.

  • classical. the music of esoteric knowledge.

  • Beautiful. <3 I was looking for this because I have to play it on my saxophone now. :) amazing. <3
