  • Honestly I think Powell still has an honest "look in the eyes" I do think he was manipulated. Americans have been taught to "trust authority." From the time you enter kindergarden you are limited to live like a robot. Kids cannot even fight (which is part of socializing) and learn the consequences from disturbing another human-being while learning also to control "anger" which (as an adult) is an excellent response when it is used wisely & smartly. Keep trusting authority, keep suffering...

  • Colin Bowel held up a small vile of cocaine and told the world that it was the greatest threat to humanity. Later, he snorted it.

  • Not all of us were dups. search on "Who Was Right About Iraqi WMDs?"

  • Sure he was. This guy was complicit is presenting false evidence to the UN that Iraq had WMDs. Otherwise, he would apologize and point out the perpetrators that handed him the false evidence. What we have is an integiry crises.

  • damania I think the man is scared to death for his life and that of his family. After all is said and done, he was just a messenger. Dick Cheney , Doug Feith and Donald Rumsfeld were behind the scenes manipulating the intel .

  • Stop going after Powell, he was duped like the rest of us. The Neocons just used him as their messenger spokesperson, he is NOT a neocon .

  • Just because he is not a neocon he is immune from scrutiny? The question was fair and needs to be answered. What role did torture play in the run up to the invasion of Iraq? Was the information obtained from Ibn al-Libi obtained from torture?

We know that al-Libi gave false information and if he gave that false information because of torture he endured in US custody then that is yet another nail in the coffin for the "torture works" logic.

  • ShockBack No of course not, noone in public life is immune from scrutiny, but Powell was duped by these neocons, and it is a waste of time to go after him unless he will testify against the neocons under oath, You are of course correct, the question is legitimate about the role torture played to extract fasle information, it is just the context in which it was asked & the person that it was asked of that irked me, which is my knee-jerk reaction due to my frustration that neocons r still free.
