  • There's plenty of other ways I can waste my time.

  • ok then, i challenge you to read all the available holy scripture, and then tell me why yours is the one you choose....

  • I challenge all you radical christians!

    Get shot in the head.

Why would it matter if you died? You've got paradise for all eternity when you die.

  • no true scotsman, nice.

i read the bible btw, i find the new testament repulsively programmed, nothing like real poetry which should be spontaenous and organic.

  • @ JAB63096

FYI Allah of the Quran is the same God of the Bible. Allah is just the Islamic word for God.

  • I was a confirmed Catholic and sincerely tried to find Jesus. Prayed. Read the Bible. And that's why I'm an atheist. Why don't you pray to Allah tonight and read the Koran. Don't forget about Vishnu. And Thor. And Zeus. And Native American Gods. All of them. etc, etc, etc.

  • my friends, i challenge you to NOT be stupid and belive in christ! now...-

since theres no scientific proof that aliens exist, should we belive they do?

  • i just tried ur recipe and just felt stupid.

actually, it got worse ... i felt like raping a cat that lies out of door.

ok, ok ... above was a joke; what is not a joke is the immense distance that exists between this childish arguments and the extremely interesting talks give by scientists.

pls evolve ... god die long time ago.

  • Asking Jesus to reveal himself to me won't work since I no longer take hallucinogenics. Maybe you should do the same, my friend.

  • theist, i challenge YOU to do ONE thing. Read both testaments. not in a poetic veiw. but for the actual content from cover to cover, and see if you still believe it.

  • fuckn pathetic. even tho im a theistic Satanist i stand by atheist, its there religion. christain scum

  • OK this is what I find to be wrong here. Nr1) You can ask me to read the bible (nt and ot, which i have) .And you can ask me to read it as poetry. BUT YOU CANT ASK ME TO IGNORE WHAT IT REALLY SAYS.

  • religion is all bullshit, why do people even argue? its so childish to belive such fairy tales, how can grown ups actually belive a god exists? why must some people be so ignorant?

  • What's the challenge in this? I've done it many times in my life. And it never worked. I honestly and somewhat solemnly asked Jesus to help me, or to show himself to me, or to give me a sign. He didn't. Who would have thought?!

  • I have a challenge for you.

    Provide evidence that God exists.

    I can wait.

  • 1. So you're saying parts of the bible are metaphorical, but others are true. That'e the same as labeling the bible "Book of fairy tales"

    2. I have prayed to god before. I have cast Wiccan spells before, I have even prayed to Zeus before, I got the same results every time.

    3. This is a form of prayer, Jesus may appear to you, Athena appeared to ancient Greeks in the same fasion. It is a DELUSION.

  • 1- Well no, you can't pick and choose which parts of the Bible can be metaphorical and which can't. Example: you can't say Jesus was resurrected and say it's not metaphorical and then say Revelation 7:1 is metaphorical. It's bullshit.

2- Praying = hoping. Praying has been proven to have no different effects on Christians to non-Christians.

3- No matter how much ANYBODY asks Jesus to reveal himself to you, he will not do so in physical or 'spirituak' ways, it just doesn't happen to anybody.

  • I challenge you to get real

  • 1. I did when i was younger. It was a dark and barbaric tale not unlike the stories of the odyssey. Where these heroes claim to be tried, cleaver, and true come off as nothing less then malevolent by today's morel standard.

    2. I prayed for instant ever lasting world peace, end of world hunger, cure for all sickness, and for a mountain to move all by 3PM EST (it's now 3:30).

    3. I tried that for 17 years. Didn't work.

  • let me guess.. if nothing happens it's our fault is it not?... sorry this is pure bullshit

  • If you pray to Allah and ask him to reveal himself to you, lifeisdandy, then I, an atheist, will do the same for God/Jesus - deal?

  • I challenge you to try to think from the perspective of your intended audience before making such a video.

  • I do look at the bible as poetry. Hence why I never take it literally and see it as subjective and mostly out dated.

I have prayed sincerely and your god doesn't cut it for me at least.

I've seen your jesus in a dream, however he did not claim to be a god or that I should worship him. He was actually smoking weed and laughing a lot. LOL Hey its a dream, not reality.

  • So I did all these things and 1 not very poetic imo. Also when I asked Jesus to reveal himself he only revealed part of himself. Man that guy is hung.

  • I'm curious, when you ask us to ask Jesus to reveal himself to us... and be sincere... you do realize that a very very very large percentage of atheists used to be theists of various sorts and MOST of us were christians at one point. I think its the hight of arrogance to assume that when we were believers that we weren't sincere in our beliefs. I'll be honest there were several times I would have swore I felt god in my prayers, but looking back it feels more like self delusion than divine...

  • Tried all three long ago, and absolutely nothing happened.

  • "Be sincere"? It's not a choice. I can't be sincere about something like that, because I think it is ridiculous. I can't sincerely ask Jesus into my life, just like I can't sincerely ask Santa Claus for a new car. It's not my willingness that's the problem; it's the fact that he isn't real.

And I can't read the NT like poetry. Not because I am not willing, but because I am dense about poetry. I am a very logical person, and have not been granted creative depth.

  • why don't i do that to allah, buddha, shiva, and the sihks' god too? it's the same principle, but i'm not dumb enough to do it!!

  • CHRISTIAN I CHALLENGE YOU:

    .

    1. Read the entire Bible... but at the beginning of each and every chapter say to yourself: "What if this was just written by men to control people."

    .

    2. Pull a Rene Descartes and take the stance of "Radical Doubt" - that is, assume EVERYTHING you know is possibly a lie.

    .

    3. Use logic and reasoning to determine if your religion even makes sense.

    .

    Oh, and be sincere.

  • As a former Christian, it was a huge revelation to me when I found out there were many, many other ancient texts that were once considered Holy. One question leads to another. You find out about all the translations, the dissent brutally crushed and all the heresies. You start asking who chose which books, and what their motives were, and by what rationale they made the selection. You learn about the various edits that have been made--pretty soon you realize that it's just bullshit.

  • Why should I do this? There are so many religions out there that I can't waste any time on this particular one if I ever want to find out which one's the right! Therefore I'm not going to believe in any specific God until one of the religions makes itself seem more credible than the others. That way I'll be open-minded, unbiased and won't have to worry about being busy with the wrong religion when the right one comes along. Because, surely, the One True Religion must be selfevident, mustn't it?

  • I said an itty bitty prayer and it worked! God revealed himself to me, just like he promised he would in John 14:21! What I don't understand is, I wasn't obeying His commands, and He still revealed Himself. Wow. What a Savior!

Oh wait, it was all poetry. Nevermind, I made up all that crap anyway. I guess I will just never be able to know right from wrong. I will never be able to find meaning in life. Maybe Muhammed will reveal himself to me next. Perhaps I should behead an infidel!

  • Thumbs down. Delusional garbage.

  • Okay now you read the theory of evolution.

  • @bruin13 You can believe in God and in the evolution you know...

  • @F4ucon: yeah, and the tooth fairy as well...

  • @AteistiSrbije Stupid answer for stupid guy ? Why couldn't we ? Give an argumented answer.

  • @F4ucon: I already did, you CAN believe in anything you want and all at the same time... the fact that you think evolution is something to be believed shows enough about how much you know... evolution is a scientific fact, get over it, learn it or remain ignorant... as for god, sure, you can believe in god, as long as you define that crap any way you want...

  • @AteistiSrbije Of course you can believe in many things but why couldn't people believe in god and think that the evolution is true at the same time ? God doesn't mean religion. Only small minded people think so.

And no, evolution isn't a fact. It's a scientific theory.

  • @F4ucon: dude, you CAN think whatever you want... its your life... if you wanna be ignorant go right ahead... as long as you don't try to convince ANYONE else that your stupid belief is true, I don't care, believe whatever you want... and now we're done cause you're turning into a troll... fyi, lookup the two different meanings of the word "theory"...

  • @AteistiSrbije Saying I'm a troll is easier than giving arguments eh ? Answer my question please.

Another thing: you're saying I shouldn't try to convince anyone but what are you doing right now ? That's right, you're insulting people by saying they're ingnorant and have stupid belief. If that's not trying to convince people...

    You're contradictory.

And go lookup the meaning of "fact". Evolution has many things that are problematic even if it's way more logic than creationism.

  • @F4ucon: troll...

  • @AteistiSrbije Don't feed the troll, stop answering me if you think I am one.

I'm looking for intelligent people, open to debate with arguments but you're obviously not one of them.

  • @F4ucon: in order to have a debate you need to LEARN some things first. What you're looking for is someone to TEACH you things you obviously do not know. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, but then SAY SO and stop pretending you're "open to debate"! THERE IS NO DEBATE! If you think that evolution is not a scientific fact then you are uneducated and ignorant. There is no debate there. Go LEARN IT. I do not have the desire to TEACH.

  • @AteistiSrbije I could say the same about you. I know perfectly what evolution is but some things doesn't work with it but you didn't notice them I think.

An example, if the modifications have to be so small we can't even notice them, why would the individual with this modification be better than another one ? There is no reason.

This modification could be lost and when we know they're very rare, it's not a small problem.

How could a thing as complex as an eye appear like that ?

  • @F4ucon: AHAHAHA :D I KNEW IT!!! :D FUCKING CREATIONIST / ID-iot!!! :D The eye :D HAHAHA YES, THANK YOU! THANK YOU for PROVING to be a fucking moron and a troll!!! THANK YOU! See, NOW we're done :D Now that you ask about the eye and the MORONIC and so many times DESTROYED "irreducible complexity" :D GO READ A BOOK you freak :D I'm blocking you and ignoring from now on, go talk to a mirror and ask about the eye :D HAHAHA such a fail, i really NEW it :D :D :D

  • @F4ucon Ummmm, natural selection?

(Crack a book for the answers you seek, dude)

  • @F4ucon We draw conclusions of fact from theory. A theory is not the same as a hypothesis. Theory of gravity? Germ theory? Theory of relativity?

    Just theories? lol

Evolution by natural selection is a fact, me friend. No god required.

  • @FaganRoberts I never said evolution is fake. I only said there are some problems in it which need to be solved. But it's the better explanation we have at the moment.

And about your answer "natural selection", was it for my question about the small modifications ? If so, this isn't an answer at all.

The natural selection keep the animals who have advantages on the others but if the modification is too small (and it should be as it's only gene mutation), there is no reason for it to be kept.

  • Very telling how Christians always ask atheists to read the NEW Testament.

Hmmm...I wonder why. Shouldn't a book be read from....the beginning? So let's see:

Ah yes. God created the heavens and the earth (twice apparently), killed everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah, chose the guy who offered his daughters up for gang rape as the only righteous man in the city, had his daugters rape him and bear his sons...yadda yadda yadda...oh yes, then he wipes out all of humanity in a flood.

    Fail.

  • I'm an atheist, and it's a relief that not all christians on youtube are ignorant nutjobs. For what it's worth, god bless.

  • As a wiccan yes i have read the bible and some of the stories can be an interesting read in the same way Shakespeare or Dickens is interesting when the mood strikes me. Prayer is weak sauce, it is one thing to set for will an intent out into the cosmos like saying "I am going to get a better job this year" and acting on it... and Jesus reveling himself to me.. if he did that its public indecency and he would go to jail *chuckles*

  • I think growing up jewish in a christian society really helped me become atheist. When christians ask me to look for jesus, I resented it as a jew and resent it just as much now as an atheist. It just always has rubbed me the wrong way and i'm sure many here feel the same. I understand as a christian you think its your duty, but for many people, the more you proselytize, the less we want to oblige.

  • Done, done and done. 13 YEARS AGO.

I still haven't heard from this guy Jesus. He must be ignoring me or something.

    Or maybe he doesn't exist?

  • I don't think you quite understand what you're saying. You're making the false assumption that it's necesary to try something out before dismissing it. I've never tried wrestling, but I know I don't want to be a wrestler because I know that it's tough, and that I'm not physically fit. Similarly, I know plenty about the Christian faith and accept that it is not for me, so I don't need to pray, read the New Testament, or "accept Jesus". (Continued)

  • If we had to apply the trying-out process to everything we did, then we'd waste half of our lives trying out every single career that is. You would be obligated to try being a Muslim, then a Sikh, or a Jew, a Tao, a Confucianist, a Zoroastrian, a Shinto, a Buddhist, and so on.

What's more, asking atheists to "give it a try" is pointless, because your three requests are things only a Christian would ever do. Atheists don't believe in Jesus or God, how can they accept Jesus, or pray?

  • Your arbitrary mythology doesn't have ANY evidence to put it at any stance of plausibility over any other on the globe. Pastafarianism has just as much evidence. NONE.

If your "god" is so almighty and powerful, wouldn't there be no need for faith and we would all just KNOW? Wouldn't he have made everything perfect? and people like you say he created us...well who/what created HIM and why?

There are a million holes in every delusion, yet IDiots still believe because they just want to.

    Logic wins.

  • Why? I mean what will asking Jesus to show himself really acomplish. Has Jesus ever shown himself to u? If he dosent show himself to a creationist I doubt he would show himself to an athiest.

  • lol

  • lol. loved the third part. who is this "Jesus" everyone is so obsessed with?? I pray to Thor and Zeus every night but nothing happens :-D

  • Poetry is for fags

  • @stevethemongolian

I got a good laugh out of that one. Everyone else is in heated philosophical conversation but under this comment they are all silenced.

  • I have done #1 already, and will do 2, and 3 only because your name is awesome. Dandy needs to be used more often.

  • 1. Done, twice.

    2. Prayer to who or what. Should I ask to win the lottery or to have my enemies killed?

    3. I'm going to have a problem with being sincere; it is a one-way conversation.

The love you feel is real, but it all comes from within side of you.

  • #3 is the cop out... it's the part where if a magic man doesn't appear it is OUR fault.

It's a nice passive aggressive way of making US the ones who need to be blamed for not believing in Jesus.

  • i realized the stupidity of religions right after i hit puberty

  • @malaverde13 sameses

  • @malaverde13 late bloomer?

  • @malaverde13 thts cuz ur stupid

  • I challenge you, to read the whole bible (new and old).. from a "poetic" point of view... forget what its about... and try to realize that in the same book that you derive the precious "ten commandments" there also comes over 600 more that include beating your slaves and stoning your children.. Not to mention the murder and burning of an innocent child as a means to appease god for granting victory in war

  • It is ridiculous to revere/fear the boogey man if he doesn't exist.

  • My only question is , after doing all of these things did u really find what you expect us to find or are you just pretending too?

Don't bother answering as I already know what your response will be.

  • #3 assumes people aren't sincere up to that point....lame.

  • i rly dont understand where the negativity is coming from y you guy begin such dicks this might just b a person hew genuinely belives that evreyone hew does not belive in god is going to burn in hell for the rest of eternity.. even if you dont belive in god no point in begin a dick

  • I've actually planed to read the whole bible, and i dont see the point in reading just the new testament.

Also i bet that if i did what you told me to in the video, and nothing happend, that means that i was not sincere enough, and not that the God of the bible would be made up.

  • No matter how many times i do this and how sincere i can be i will never believe in a god. Now why would a god create me knowing im going to be tortured forever? Its all just absurd.

  • I did it. Nothing happened I just had to take a shit afterwards. I guess it just goes to support what we already know, religion is shit!

  • This is the 21st century. The time for believing in magic and superstitions is past.

But to answer the question, I was a christian till I was 36. I studied the bible many many hours in that time as well as prayed sincerely many many hours. My "answer" was a deafening silence and the outcomes of my prayers were no more positive than I'd have gotten with chance. Now I'm free.

  • alas, I did what you suggest but so far - no jesus.

  • Sure, sure. How about you read the bible, not as poetry, but as the end-all, be-all of knowledge that you tambourine whackers like to say it is... See, if we were meant to know god through the bible, it did a shitty job of writing it.

  • lame

  • What your asking is for me to become a christian...umm, no fuck off.

  • I've done all three of these so called "challenges" both as a Christian earlier in my life and as an Atheist. Neither time did anything happen.

  • now for you:

1.) Read the old testament, literally.

2.) Ask yourself, if this was someone else doing these acts, and not your god, would it still be moral, and not evil?

3.) Ask your god to to reveal himself to you and explain to you his sins.

  • I did steps one, two, and three as challenged. But surprisingly it was Muhammad who revealed himself to me. Did I do something wrong? Please help.

  • @LINEOFPROGRESSION You got Mohammed? I got Thor to reveal himself to me. It was awesome. We drank beer and feasted, and then I took the greatest nap ever.

  • @maggot666punk Im so jealous!!! Thor sounds alot cooler than Mohammad, hes kind of controlling. But anyways, what are the steps to find Jesus or Yahweh? I heard their pretty cool, except for some jealousy and violence issues. Does Jesus smoke???

  • @LINEOFPROGRESSION IDK. I've never got him to reveal himself. I'm pretty sure he does smoke tho. The man has long hair and wears nothing but sandals and loose fitting clothing,as per artist depictions. Dude's gotta be a hippy. haha.

  • I understand that from your point of view your request seems to make sense, but it's slightly hypocritical for someone to ask others to ignore what they believe when you don't attempt to do the same. I can easily and logically show you where you're wrong but you would not listen anyway because whatever I tell you gets filtered through your (biased by faith) mind process. So I shall only debate with you if you wish to do so by replying........in the meantime thanks, but no thanks.

  • hey! stop trying to convert people! isn't that what free will is about?

  • I was a Christian well into my late teens, I've done this stuff. I'm not sure what the point of his is.

Maybe you could try something for me. 1 read a biological anthropology text book. 2 read up on the positive correlation between atheism and peace. 3 ask yourself why you'd ever want to convert the most peaceful and educated minority on the planet to archaic dogmatic religion?

  • I did all that and now I have Face Aids, thanks a bunch!

  • I took your advice. I found 1Corinthians 14: 34-35 to be the most poetic. I said a prayer that I hope all women would follow the teachings of our Lord. Will you also join with me in that prayer tonight? I am only looking to spread the inerrant word of our God.

  • Another stupid video by a stupid ape-brain. I challenge you to read the old testament and then characterize that god. If you're still delusional see a shrink to get de-programmed.

  • i'm an athiest, i've read the bible three times, i go to bed at night wishing for a better day tomorrow and i am jesus

  • I tried. It didn't work.

  • Believe me mate, when I realized I was losing my faith years back, that's exactly what I did. Nothing happened.

  • This video is so stupid it can't HELP but give christians an even worse name than they've already made for themselves.

  • Sure, and then if Jesus doesn't "reveal" himself, then I must not have been sincere enough, right?

    Lame ass.

  • 1.) Did it

    2.) Did it

    3.) Did it

I was a christian for 10 years. Not once did I find any evidence that god or even jesus existed. I didn't take situations in my life and attribute them to god, that isn't evidence. That's interpretation of personal experience.

There is no evidence to justify a belief in god, hence I won't believe in god until evidence is provided to justify that belief.

  • @Evanwebster they found noahas ark............it was on the news evry where...it was found in like 2006.look it up

  • I'm not sure if your sarcastic or not, but people have been claiming they found Noah's Ark for over 100 years. Every time someone finds a piece of wood in the mountains, they claim its Noah's ark. The story of Noah's ark is absurd in itself, because back then, they didn't have metal bindings for a ship, so ships could only be so large, and they weren't nearly the size necessary to hold all life on earth, with necessary food and room to run around. It is laughably absurd.

  • @Evanwebster

My favorite point about Noah's Ark is 'what did the carnivores eat for the first year after they got off the boat?'

  • @PaulFace - Isn't it obvious? They ate nothing! They politely waited for the animals to begin repopulating, because god told them to, and they listed to there merciful god, who starved them until the animals could repopulate! The dinosaurs grew impatient, tried to eat eachother, and god killed them all as punishment!! and that's how it happened! Hmmm, making this stuff up is easy..

  • @Evanwebster

Wait a minute... You were making that up?

    Charlatan!!

But I think we should remember that everything in the bible should be taken as allegory except the stuff that shouldn't.

  • 1. Sure, some stories in it are decent stories by themselves, if you do not attach any faith to them. The problem is that people treat them as much, much more than just stories, and judge other people by them, and oppress people because of them, as opposed to just letting everyone live their own way.

2 and 3 are basically the same. Asking me to talk to beings that don't have any evidence to have ever existed.

  • The bible is not the word of any god since it was written by humans and made by humans. It is just a pile of thoughts of people who in these days would be called sick minded. The only difference is that back in those times knowledge wasn't spread over mankind, as it is now, and so people could believe in whatever nonsense they heard. It's called rumors and gossips, people really do it that way.

  • 1. The bible is the word of God and is therefore not poetry. I have read it.

2&3 An atheist is incapable of saying a prayer with any sincerity. And even if one were to be able to lie to himself, I find it remarkable that they would want Him to come into their lives.

What you, and others before you have done, is ask people to convert. Pure and simple. Whilst I am sure the video is sincere, it is also gerrymandering people into an unreal faith system.

  • REDONKYOULOUS!!!!!!!!!!LOL

  • I understand where you are coming from in asking us to do this, but I don't think you realize what it looks like on our end. I was a devout Christian for most of my life, so I did #2 and #3 regularly. As for #1, I don't think it makes sense to read anything but poetry poetically...

But try these things: Imagine there is no god. Do good anyway.

I doubt that changed your view at all.

  • I appreciate you making a decent, respectful comment. I know that it is hard to see each other's point of view.. but when I did this video..it was not out of harassment or arrogancy.. just wanted to maybe give ppl a different view.

  • Comment removed

  • Why are you a Christian and not a Muslim or Hindu? They think their prayers work as much as you think yours do. Could it be you`re a Christian because of where you were born?

  • @lifeisdandy btb, life ain't dandy!!

  • @666jimmysmusicgirl lol life aint dandy at all

  • @satanist666 but it aint :P

    lol

  • lifeisdandy, I did it and I got a pain in my stomach. What's Jesus doing to me?

Now your turn to do the same with the Qur'an and Mohammad.

  • Yup. This is an excellent description of Christianity.

If you allow yourself to believe in it, you can believe in it.

I prefer to believe true things.

  • hmmmmm...nope. Nothing happened. big surprise.

  • I am an atheist and in no way do i see anything wrong with this. i gave you a 5 =)

  • Thank you... :)

  • worst argument, or worst argument ever?

  • @satanist666 i don't see anything wronge with it either except i tried it as an atheist i stick to what i beleive in because i've already tried this, i'm not a hypocryt

  • @666jimmysmusicgirl yeah (satanist here) i was raised a catholic but i never felt any special feelings and as i got older i started feeling ridiculous doing all those things

  • @despertar1991 lol, i was brought up a protistant and i just one day thought to myself 'this is all bollox!!" and from then on i've believed that god is nonexcisting.

you know people think that satanism is evil and selfish but in most cases it's the realists religion :)

  • @despertar1991 ?... random

  • @666jimmysmusicgirl thats weird. lol

  • @despertar1991 lol... yess... very lol...

    :D

  • Well that what shit.

  • To be fair, I think this video is an honest attempt to make atheists understand christianity.

However, the problem isn't that we haven't had the exposure to religious scripture or prayer or tried to accept jesus, it's simply that we reject all of that as nonsensical.

I'm far happier today as an atheist than I ever was as a Christian and I dare more religious people to think a little more carefully on the subject, they might be surprised at what they conclude, and be happier too.

  • @pezzamange hmmmm this was backwards for me i did believe in GOD then i stopped it was just to hard to prove that god didn't exist so i stopped trying that then i felt something empty in my heart it was hurting then i sayed a prayer the 1st time in 2 years i heared something in my head and i felt happy again it said "You see the light again and I forgive you"

  • So you want us to

    1. Treat the NT like poetry (yet take literally the parts about Jesus dying for our sins, and use the "poetry" to impose religious doctrine on non-believers.

    2. Say a prayer (my favorite: "Star light, star bright...")

    3. Ask Jesus to reveal himself. I was a Christian; I asked for this many times. There were even a few, I thought I'd received it (when I was young and ignorant of reality and led by my parents). But I was wrong. Jesus just died; there is no God.

  • do these three things....say "Candyman" three times...

  • How about, if your a believer

    1. Try reading something good, with a plot, like Shakespeare.

    2. Pray only to a different God for a week and see how it affects your success rate.

    3. Ask the Invisible Pink Unicorn to reveal himself to you. But you have to be sincere.

  • 1. I already look at the New Testament as literature.

    2. I'd rather try to actually do something to help someone.

    3. You can't be sincere in asking something you don't believe to exist to reveal itself. It's impossible.

  • sometimes you just have to shake your head i dissapoitmet/disbelief. i'm ashamed to breathe the same air as these people.

  • pff

    are you serious

  • WTF!

That is worse than saying candyman 5 times in the mirror

I did what this vid said and some guy appeared, he ... 'touched' me and made me eat "the flesh of christ " !

Was that it supposed to be funny?

is it funny to you, to do this to people?

  • 1) Have you read any other religious book besides the Bible? How do you know the Bible is the book we 'should' read? How do know your god is the right one? Have you ever read a book about astronomy/cosmology? Philosophy? Chemistry? Biology? There is no book or person that can convince me of the existence of something that I cannot see, touch, taste, smell, or hear.

    2) To whom? I live alone.

    3) Where is he? If he was here, I wouldn't need to ask him to reveal himself.

  • Religion is so primitive.

I can't understand how so many cannot see how completely full of crap it all is.

  • A lot of them are conditioned as children, and the strength of that on the human brain can't be taken lightly.

Most people these days don't actually follow the Bible as "God" intended at all. They take tiny little scraps that they can stomach and ignore huge amounts of it.

I was brought up religious, and now I honestly can't even grasp how I believed any of it for a moment. My parents were stupid, they made me actually study the Bible. Big lolz, I'm now an Atheist.

  • technical impossiblility

How can I be sincere, about something which i have good reasons to think is a scam?

  • Why just the new testament? And are we also supposed to read the laws regarding the ownership and treatment of slaves?

  • Ok 1) done 2) I don't know what this means. I don't know what an itty bitty pray is. 3) done. No change. Next??

  • The facts you can observe, you know, the ones that are real. The evidence is more then obvious, and can be drawn from a vast amount of aspects when respectively comparing the two groups. Despite the fluke here and there, the masses bend to our model of expectancy, thus confirming significant, measurable differences in IQ. Not only that, but the difference is far more then 'notable' when facing individuals of both groups in dialogue, especially when more complex thought is required.
  • "It would take only one intelligent christian or stupid atheist to refute that and I can think of dozens of examples of each."

No one can refute the facts, I am not prejudiced,

I am intellectually honest, unlike some of us here.

  • I am sorry, but the observable, measurable facts state otherwise.

  • I was raised as a christian, I went to church, and I tried to believe in Jesus, I asked him to come into my life, and in the end all that happened was a lack of divine contact and a realization that the morality of the bible is completely evil(I am caisto5 BTW, I was using my roommates ID since he was logged in at the time.)

  • To elucidate on why the bible is evil. Check out the second story in the bible, the fall from the garden of Eden. God forbids them to eat from the tree of knowledge, when they do

Genesis 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever" and he casts them out. God doesn't want us to use the one capacity we have, reason, and therefore he is evil.

  • "Why?"

Because it is all we have, to live for.

  • He/She is too gifted, intellectually,

to even have the capicity to become

    follower of such ludicrous stupidity,

    'sorry'.

  • you know christanity could be seen as a way of keeping the stupid containd. they build there owen prison and lock them selfs in and then cry from with in, asking for there saviour to come help them yet they do not look for the key they them selves hold and used to seal them selves, my life as an Athest has give me a world ten fold bigger to play in and watch from i do not constrain my self to a book 200 year old people made, enjoy your prison.

  • I am Atheist..

  • One of these requests cannot be fulfilled, and that be the third one. You see, for an Atheist to sincerely pray to Jesus, the Atheist needs, as an absolute requirement, to believe in Jesus. (by definition not making the so called Atheist, an Atheist, but a Theist) It would be like me asking you to wipe your ass with your favorite bible's pages, as if god was a megalomaniac monster that's logically impossible anyway. Quite an unfeasonable request, wouldn't you say so ?
  • There is nothing else. No proof, no commandment, no ethereal entity. Work off from what you know, not what you imagine. Dream, but work hard to make your dreams come true. If you feel that the point in life is to make a mark, you have missed the whole point in living. All the people you have heard of now in all the books are a less than .00001% of the work population that has existed in the past 6000 years. Why worry about that, live life, be kind, work hard. Dream and strive

  • My problem is that I tried this when I was a christian (read the bible cover to cover 3 times) and I still realized that the religion was bull.

  • it really fucking rocks to be atheist

because, evil really is kinda fucking fun if you give it a chance ;)

    evil makes me feel sexy

  • Sure Ill try that but in return you must do three things for me. 1. Ask yourself do you take the bible literally or figuratively. 2. If you believe it is the literal truth then ask yourself if you truly believe that snakes and bushes can talk. 3. try to understand that some people would rather believe the impossible dream than accept the awful truth. Atheists are prepared to look at life on life's terms.

  • no thanks, all ready tried that crap, it don't work. you just don't get atheists do you? we simply cannot make our minds believe something so ridiculous to nature. there's definitely way better poetry out there too.

  • I have read it, so?

Why pray? if there is a master plan that has been preconceived since the beginning of time then god can't change the outcome, or else he wouldn't be omniscient.

And Jesus down the street the mexican has some damn good weed, so I asked him to give me a joint! Thanks jesus..

  • The idea is that when you understand the world around you, you don't have to resort to making up fairy tales to explain it.

  • "I wasn't claiming that it was ok because of the numbers, the term genocide however is excessive."

Not when it's a)mass murder; b)annihilation of entire races of social groups.

"And no "any atrocity" is not ok in the name of God."

Yet you just said it is in the previous post.

"The particular instance where God sanctions killing"

    And uh... RIGHT NOW.

You're a bloody hypocrite, that's what it is.

  • "The "Genocide" was actually only on a tri
