Good band, saw them at Manchester Apollo circa 1982. (i think) good voice and guitarist, metal rondezvous and hardware easily there best albums...did once skit kiss in a radio interview tho'......bad thing to do..although krokus were a good band, they can't hold a light to kiss , who were easily one of the all time greatest hard rock bands along with ac-dc....
Queens are hard to entertain. You go to xtreame for a day and it's a game. A little fame and you in. Some say Bad Company but who invented it? It has to be played in order to rock like the cradle.
There are few exceptions, but good music is good music, regardless of all that. I listened to Krokus, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, and Judas Priest before I really knew who AC/DC was. I love Bon Scott era AC/DC, but they werent realevant stateside back in 78,79.
@06ruiz Very well stated. Sometimes bands DO sound like others. Some intentionally, some not. And usually you can tell the imitators. and all the bands you mentioned are not imitators. I will add Saxon and the Rod's as 2 more un''imitators. Agreed about a/c d/c stateside. I loved em back in 79 but most people I knew did not dig it. 2-3 yrs later they were all over it.
the only thing like AC/DC is the guitar, and vocals some what. But Rock has always had gravely singers! Krokus are more metal then AC/DC. Mark is a better singer too.
This is shamelessly plagiarized from Bad Company's "Rock Steady" Bad Company: Turn on your light And stay with me awhile Ane ease your worried mind Turn on yourlight Baby And stay with me awhile And rock steady, yeah Krokus: So close your eyes And stay with me In rock city And ease your worried mind In rock city...
the only goofy dude is the main guitarist. that dumb hat and the goofy stripe baggy pants are ridiculous looking but they rock in this tune and the gate is cool. they still rock...
Queen Nora Sucks Balls for sure. Bens gay pot shot: 0:06 and it ain't trucking as trucking and fucking is all queen nora craves. But gota admit that bands seen it's day your a fan?
I saw them twice on the Hardware Tour in 1981 they were completely awesome at that point in time. They blew away the headliners (Rainbow,Pat Travers) and then (Ted Nugent , Blackfoot) I know it is hard to believe but it is very very true !!!! Great 80's rock band !!!!!!
Saw quite a few hardrock and metalbands in the early 80's but too bad Krokus didn't tour Belgium around that time. Krokus is probably one of the best hardrockbands of all time...
And in 82' - 83', it all looked like Krokus was gonna be huge. Remember, their album hit platinum in the USA, that was a pretty big deal. If they hadn't screwed up Change of Adress, their future might have looked different.
They're still alive and kicking ass, so who cares.
I'm so proud to have seen this tour. A little bar in NEW HAVEN CT called Toads place. I took the poster off the wall and bullshitted with some of the boys of METAL. HARDWARE RULES!!!!!!!
One of the most energetic live bands I have seen. Even their commercial songs are cool. Not to many bands could pull this off. Saw them in 1981 and was blown away. No stage show just a great performance.
Good Rockin Band, brings back memories. Love the guitar for ever, back then I liked the Hardware album as much as any of the best bands. Well gonna go watch Easy Rocker now.
Anybody ever hear the song 'Rock steady' by Bad Company? There's a couple obvious similarities, but that's OK cuz I know Krokus has a few good ideas of their own. In fact usually the worst stuff they did was covers, but this is great as well as Stayed awake. I'll have to find the Bad Co track in a minute.
Another "touched up" video. The video is live but it has been edited to a studio track. Can you say Milli Vanilli????? I suppose the live audio was so atrocious they had no choice, but I DO know this band CAN ROCK LIVE!
Dude, don't you know anything?! 99.9% of all performance videos are simply the band rockin' out to the pre-recorded track (or live footage is edited and sync up with the studio version of the chosen song). Krokus weren't pushing a live album here but 'Hardware'! Some performance videos are even shot on a sound stage w/o an audience present because it's all about getting the camera angles and lighting right, not whether the band can pull it off live.
Awesome band..first heard this song back in the late 70s early 80s & I did have the original vinyl lp 33' back then, until I sold it..cher.
