I remember during the mid 60"s seeing this movie. I was a child but even then I loved the music and the action in this movie. I now have the DVD. Every so often I watch this movie and think of my childhood days. Wonderful times they were.
One of Herrmann's best, beautifully rendered by Bruce Broughton and the Sinfonia of London. The scene where the hydra's teeth are sown to raise the skeletons is still an all-time classic of cinema.
This is an extraordinary Bernard Herrmann score, which I consider one of the top 100 of all time...I'm constantly surprised that it's not included in any musical film list I've seen on the Internet...It would be interesting to edit and view the Talos entrance with the emergence of Godzilla in the original Japanese version of Gojira (1954)...It would be a wonderful combination...
@SamusDrake Broughton and the Sinfonia did a great job with the score! They took the theme at the stately, grand pace Herrmann intended, but was hampered by the shortening of the title sequence. And you are right on the money--the Talos segment is beautifully performed!
FUCK - I need to go play God of War now!

The best part of this film is Talos. The music is so fitting for the giant of Bronze.
