  • Again, awesome work! Awesome work! :) :) :)

Gah, I feel so lost...what exactly is that thing you attached to your camera?

  • @slayerette86m Heh, it was my attempt at making it look like an anamorphic adapter. Notice the oblong shape of the bokeh? That's typically caused/created by using a real anamorphic adapter (something like an Iscorama). Just a fun little thing to try to see if I could make it look just as good as the real thing. :)

  • @esotericsean "anamorphic adapter" you mean like aspect ratio? Interesting!

  • yeah it's optical flres plugin AAE, not Iscorama

  • @mastercuy Yep, just like a said in the description :P

  • Canon 50mm 1.4 right? Do you recommend?

  • Thanks for the help with my contest proposal. This beautiful night work with the 7D by the way.

  • @DaleKamp Thanks :) I gave you a like on your video, hehe. gl with the contest!

  • awesome job !

  • This is great!

  • @solochapin101 Thanksya :)

  • So, if I'm just looking to shoot video, would you recommend the 7D or 5D MII (I know you have owned both)...I read up on what they can do but you've actually used both. Any thoughts? Thanks

  • @delicti If you can afford it, the 5D is way better. Much cleaner image at high ISO levels. Though, the 7D isn't bad at all if you know how to use it. I really miss ours. The 7D can do 60p slow motion, but only at 720p, which is pretty much useless.

  • @esotericsean I was afraid you were gonna say that. So 5D it is. Is there an inexpensive but decent lens you would suggest to go with it?

  • @delicti Check your messages :)

  • @heavymetalalien It's fake. I used a piece of cardboard in front of my lens to simulate anamorphic bokeh (notice the oblong shape). Also used the new Optical Flares After Effects plug-in to create the anamorphic lens flares. Wish I could afford a real anamorphic adapter.

  • Awesome bokeh!

I just got a Rebel T1i (because I'm a poor student and couldn't afford the MkII), and I have a 50mm f/1.4 that I'm really looking forward to using to shoot video.

  • @jp3553 Aw, didn't wait for the T2i? You should upgrade. Proper 1080p video, equal to the quality of the 7D. The 50 1.4 is the same lens I have. Way better than the 1.8, but not as nice as the $1500 f/1.2 :P

  • this is so NICE!! I love it. I'm gonna try to get one of these next year. Hope you make some more vids. They are inspiring.

  • @Silentbutdeadly07 Heh, it's actually fake. Check the updated description ;)

  • Sean i just sold my Nikon D40xand i want to buy an SLR that records video because i cant afford two cameras right now. I was considering the Nikon D90 but for the same price the Lumix Gh1 has more megapixels, records in 1080p (instead of 720), has video autofocus and external Mic imput. i think that may be a good choice, What do you think ? can you help me out? do you know another camera of that price range i may be missing? HEEELLLPP!!!

  • @zephyrod Nikons have very little noise at high ISO. Great for low light, but yes, they only shoot in 720p and their rolling shutter is really bad. The GH1 is pretty decent, but it doesn't compare to the quality of something like the 7D. Take a look at the Canon T2i. Doesn't take as good of stills as the 7D, but the video quality is nearly identical. With the kit lens, it goes for under $1k.

  • @esotericsean thank you very much i appreciate it ! :)

  • I love your videos, guys! Where do you get your music?

  • @zottepark Hmm, I use Pandora, Last fm, Lala, Skreemr, I'm always on the search for good music :)

  • nice one sean. haven't heard from u in a while. good to see something from u again. :)

  • @oxzanofilms Thanks! More stuff coming soon :)

  • Long time no see! lol.. any new short movies comin up?!

  • @absynth21 Yes! Got a lot coming up pretty soon :)

  • With what you colored?

  • @thaarv Mainly used Mojo, but also a little Colorista and Magic Bullet Looks for a light vignette.

  • too dark.. you should calibrate monitor on the machine you edit.. or just add more light to the scene. nice work tho :)

  • @losbergs2 My monitor is calibrated with a Spyder. Intentionally dark, but yes more light would have helped. Just wanted to test. Thanks!
