How does this work? Does the Trophy shoot out electromagnetic interference to detonate the projectiles or does it shoot out fragments in the projectile's direction? You were supposed to tell me how Mr.Narrator guy!
The RPG-30 was unveiled in 2008 by the State Research and Production Enterprise, Bazalt as a modern anti-tank grenade launcher designed to address the threat of reactive armor and active protection systems on tanks[1]. Active protection systems (APS) such as ARENA-E, Drozd and Trophy defeat anti-armour munitions by destroying them before they reach the target, the RPG-30 is an intended response to the introduction of these systems.
I think the shield is impenetrable until the missiles that are launched out to deflect the attacks are out. Then we're screwed! Anyway, the shield won't do very well against miniguns.
You misinterpreted the context of my post, you reactionary dolt. I already stated the US developed it. If you went back re-read the original poster's comment that I replied to, you come to discover how much of a "dumb shit" you really are.

hezbollah killed nearly a whole tank division in the 2006 lebanon war with the advanced russian anti tank weaponary (rpg29, metis-m etc..) this system won't change that for sure
Not always and not at all times, no, however if it is even 90% effective in most combat situations that will help a lot.
And Hezbollah wont have direct access to the "cutting edge" in Russian hardware. (For Hezbollah, "new" means 2-5 years old.) And even when they do get the new stuff, it is almost always the "export variant", and not quite as good as what Russian troops use themselves.
Trophy will go a LONG way in saving tank crews lives.
You Israeli's are incredible! I thought this was only possible in videogames like Supreme Commander. Lately I saw a video about MTHEL, another great invention.
Yeah. Raphael Defense and Israeli Defense Industries are some of the best weapons R&D people in the world. Afterall, who do you think created the Desert Eagle .50?
Wait 'till Hizbollah gets a load of this... Can you imagine it? (A terrorist fires an anti-tank missile at a Merkavah, but instead of hitting it detonates harmlessly outside?) Imagine the look on that guys face! Lol.
Yeah, but it fires a .50 calibur round! It's a freakin' hand-cannon!
I know it's not all that practical; but every video game made within the last 7-10 years features a Deagle... So it's cool.
Anyway, most everyone knows the quality of Israel's defense industries, I was just having a little fun. (But yes: there are far better examples of Israeli tech... Like the MTHEL - Mobile Tactical High Energy Laser.)
It´s just not all that useful, other than for intimidation. Too heavy and too small bullet capacity for military purposes and simply too powerful for home defense. Hell, I´d want to shoot the guy, not him, the wall behind him and then whatever´s in the next room.

When it comes to taking US tax money to develop weapons to kill children. Your 100% correct.
Btw, "Trophy" is OUR weapon system, thank you very much. We paid for its development.

No, you got 7. 7 tanks. That is not a tank division.
Big deal for you, I guess. That you were able to get 7 is not amazing to us.
And trophy will change a lot! If we could stop you from killing even 1 tank, it would be worth it. (Especially to the tank crew inside.)
MerkavahmkIV 3 years ago
A whole tank DIVISION? Care to provide a source for that statement?

I wouldn´t use the Deagle as a example. It´s not all that practical and more of a show-off pistol.
