Secondly, we live on a planet with finite resources, so infinite economic growth is unsustainable.
Well, there are resources needed outside of energy, but you bring up a valid point, which leads us to another problem with capitalism: there is no profit in abundance. The technology is available to take full advantage of tidal, geothermal, solar and wind energy. Yet we insist on using fossil fuels instead of fully pursuing these technologies. Why? Because all of these technologies would create an abundance of energy. There is much more profit in a scarce product, like oil.

I happen to know a feudalist, well a neo-feudalist. I respectfully disagree with most of the political stances he takes, but he's entitled to that opinion and he can argue pretty good in favor of some points.
Now he's a socialist? Why? Because he calls capitalism unethical? I know plenty of people who do that, including capitalists (they just don't have a problem with it). Also socialism is not the same as communism, and there are many kinds of socialists.

@SSTTEEAALLTTHH I think the problem with out capitalism is investors don't care as much to get a good investment, what they really want is to invest in everything and make sure every expansion of business and employed person is somehow in their pockets. Instead of communist socialism when ever job is controled by the center so supply and demand is broken, it's another for of socialism where they just control the system so supply and demand is broken.

What you said kind of refers to one of the problems I have with capitalism. That it demands infinite economic growth, which lead companies to maximize profit. There are 2 problems with this. Automation means you can get rid of a lot of employees to maximize profit and efficiency. I'm actually pro-automation, but in capitalism it would create poverty. Secondly, we live on a planet with finite resources, so infinite economic growth is unsustainable.

Well, there are resources needed outside of energy, but you bring up a valid point, which leads us to another problem with capitalism: there is no profit in abundance. The technology is available to take full advantage of tidal, geothermal, solar and wind energy. Yet we insist on using fossil fuels instead of fully pursuing these technologies. Why? Because all of these technologies would create an abundance of energy. There is much more profit in a scarce product, like oil.

Sure the Euro is a good currency...I think but the differences in what each European nation has or specializes in is I think the problem. Well plus the banking industry behind it all. The birthplace of democracy Greece should not be taken apparently from an economic difference between the Greeks and the more financially sound nations of Europe like Germany. @XSilvenX I am sure they will manage somehow and use their resources wisely and what money they have left, but without fuel it will be around the clock work just to do 1/10th of the work you could do with sufficient fuel supply. Farming consumes huge amounts of energy and fertilizer, which also comes from oil. Not to mention genetically modified plants to do not produce seeds, so crops would have one turn over and that is it.

There is only one reason why Papandreou would have all of a sudden changed his tack in as far as whether to allow a referendum in Greece, and that is because those that actually created the crisis in the first place have told him to do so.
That group being of course the International Banksters.
They have clearly now decided to allow the system to crash, and after it has crashed come forward with their plan for how to sort things out.
