I'm not downin the video I thought it was really cool. I live in Florida the woods here is so much thicker . The snow makes it a lot easer to track blood too . Down here the hogs have more to hide in . I don't know if that would even be possible here. I still want to give it a try though :)

If it's a real method of hunting, definitely hardcore.

Even a smaller pig doesn't need to get you in "the right area". They got tusks and they are SHARP. They wil gust gash up your arms, legs and anywhere they can reach. You will go down fast in a 1v1 with a pig.

The likelihood of merely standing near a tree and having a pig walk right near you are xtremely slim. Oh, that pig looks more eurasian boar too. I have a boar spear similar to that one. Im into the primitive methods of hunting myself. I did use guns once upon a time, but I prefer to use the bow and arrow and the spear. I feel if your gonna hunt at least give the animal a fighting chance.
Not to smart to give an animal that would kill you a chance. That way you will end up dead. Primitive humans survived because they TOOK every advantage they could get.
Still hunting that way is very intense and interesting.
Hey, i have a question that i hope you will answer. When you hunt boars like that, why are you not thrusting the spear as heard as you can, and then using your weight to penetrate the boar as much as possible?
Most of the spears have hatchetts on them. Perpendicular pieces of metal that are intended to stop the boar from sliding up the spear if he comes at you once you spear him. Because of this you would only spear him as deep as the blade is long, which is more than enough.

I usually stab them and then roll them over by keeping my weight on the shaft of the spear. Once they are on their side they pretty much kill themselves by thrashing around on the blade.

taking animal with a bow takes just as long or longer for the animal to expire. it basically bleeds out. with the spear the blade is much larger letting more blood out killing the animal faster. also shot placement is important. if you hit an animal in the heart with any method its going down quicker. lungs are just easy to hit. any way to take an animal with a spear has to be great. to me its cheating to shoot one from 100 yards with a rifle than taking it from 3 feet with a spear.

He's on the cover of the DVD. They don't make it far with a 2 foot long blade stuck in them. It's like shooting a 2 foot long 5 inch wide broadhead.

Hey, i have a question that i hope you will answer. When you hunt boars like that, why are you not thrusting the spear as heard as you can, and then using your weight to penetrate the boar as much as possible?

Most of the spears have hatchetts on them. Perpendicular pieces of metal that are intended to stop the boar from sliding up the spear if he comes at you once you spear him. Because of this you would only spear him as deep as the blade is long, which is more than enough.

Do you always stab and release the spear?
I usually stab them and then roll them over by keeping my weight on the shaft of the spear. Once they are on their side they pretty much kill themselves by thrashing around on the blade.

yes we all enjoy getting fored by a hog just as much as you do, but the idea of guns is to show that humans have improved from primative ways, and they kill the animal much faster and humanely. it isn't right to hunt if you dont consider pain from the animal. danm good meat though =D

taking animal with a bow takes just as long or longer for the animal to expire. it basically bleeds out. with the spear the blade is much larger letting more blood out killing the animal faster. also shot placement is important. if you hit an animal in the heart with any method its going down quicker. lungs are just easy to hit. any way to take an animal with a spear has to be great. to me its cheating to shoot one from 100 yards with a rifle than taking it from 3 feet with a spear.
