Paul B is a pretentious bitch (like a great many of MSNBC's 'guests'). But he is right that C. Fiorina was a disaster for the Republican party. Anti-Boxer sentiment was at an all-time high and the economy was at an all-time low and CF just came across as a greedy, lackluster Republican and she took away our first real shot of throwing Boxer out on her ass. Now we're sentenced to six more years thanks to her. Now I know how her HP employees felt: SCREWED.

A stopped clock is right twice a day, and Begala is right on this one: Carly Fiorina trashed Lucent, drove HP into the ground, laid of thousands of Americans, couldn't make any decent management decisions, and finally got fired.

The counter argument is that she has "real world experience". Forget it. In the real world you don't travel the globe with your entourage in two jets paid for by others and then get a $45M payoff for total failure. Even Senator McCain had the sense to fire her.

Fiorina got fired from HP after a couple years. HP is doing well now under Hurd.

Lets see, McCain uses a fired CEO as his financial advisor while Obama uses Warren Buffett. I think most people would agree that Fiorina is no Buffett.

Maybe that is why McCain thought the "fundamentals of the economy are sound" a couple weeks before the near-collapse of the economy.
