I know its your list but how did Matt Bellany get on the list? All he does is use a lot of distortion and then shows off by playing sense less riffs. What about Santana, Jimi, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, SRV, George Harrison, Keith Richards and maybe Eddie Van Halen. I understand why Slash and Jimmy Page are on the list and Kirk Hammet. Cobain was more notable as a singer and song writer than a guitar player. All in all, this is your list.

I know its your list but how did Matt Bellany get on the list? All he does is use a lot of distortion and then shows off by playing sense less riffs. What about Santana, Jimi, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, SRV, George Harrison, Keith Richards and maybe Eddie Van Halen. I understand why Slash and Jimmy Page are on the list and Kirk Hammet. Cobain was more notable as a singer and song writer than a guitar player. All in all, this is your list.

@MaurijnMusic agreed! cause he can sync both, his genial ideas of sounds and lyrics and play them, not only is he great playing the guitar, but also a wonderful pianist, i think it's funny that muse isn't as epic as it should be already, but i'm dead sure that 10 years from now everyone will pretty much be on the same page when saying bellamy was the best of his generation, and one of the best of all times. as far as original goes, they are the top today. Not many can clash rock with symphony.

@Yudansha92 Agreed with Cobain's guitar skills, maybe average, but dude, thinking about his music, He did it great, and isn't average at all!!! I think he could be one of the most creative guitar players, 'cuase music is about vibe and feelling.One can ear a skillfuly played very difficult guitar solo and it could sound like shit. Or ear some guy with shitty skills which music sounds awesome.

My favorite band is muse but I disagree when say that matt is the best guitarrist, there are other guitarrist with much skill. Don't forget that matt is composer, vocal, piano and guitar..if he was the best guitarrist of the world would be a genius

ok, this is unacceptable. jimmy page is by far the best of all the ones you mentioned and the majority of the ones that everyone else mentioned with the exception of hendrix (St3hLy, i agree :). oh and slash deserved to be ahead of matt bellamy. i love muse but he is not an exceptional player. page is a legend, an innovator and a master. don't bother replying to this if you don't play guitar.

For all the stupis that are saying matt is better than slash, slash has been the best hard rock guitarrist, matt stilll missing somithing sometimes his sound is a copy from serial guitarrists as Joe Satriani, you can almost hear him in some songs, Steve vai in small licks, tom morello etc, i´m not saying he´s not good, he is a guitarrist that are trying to put the guitarr sound the solos etc in to this garbage of actual music, but simple slash is a guitar legend, can´t compare him...

Kurt Cobain, i dont feel that he is an amazin guitarist, his solos were pretty much just the vocals to the chorus played up an octive on a guitar. Most of his songs were based on 4 or 5 power chords, and to me that doesnt shout "this dude is better than Hendrix". Dont get me wrong, i think Nirvana were incredible, but Kurt wasnt better than Hendrix, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani or Angus Young...May he rest in peace
