At first i wasn't sure, but when the boy sung with Helmut Lotti it was clear that his voice is/was an alto voice. Childrens voices are spelled in the female pitch. In the puberty vocal change the boys voices turn to the male pitches.

He has amazing natural control/legato, support and expressivity, particularly for someone so young. He is really amazing in pop-like pieces, he is absolutely great here too, but he would be so many times even better if he went with classical training/production for these songs. He already has great support(more natural/physical strength than technical), using classical production he would cause heart attacks and heart breaks with his singing.

What the others have pointed out is correct, he is famous all over the world. I think your comment (spiffyacey) comes from the fact the videos on youtube are downgraded to fit them on their website. You will find from the original cd's that for a young performer, he has a very powerful voice and can also sing in numerous languages. Singing in another language, also has different sounds and can sometimes make it very much different to when you here the same song, sung in English.

I have his second CD, recorded when he was about 16 or 17. His voice has changed to a very lovely baritone and his singing is just as wonderful.

His voice changed a long time ago. Perhaps his new management wasn't management at all but him calling it quits so to speak. He might've tired of the fans, performing and wanted a more normal life thus disappearing back into the public so to speak. I wonder what his voice sounds like at 21 now. Hmmm.

Its kinda funny that the adult is singing the higher pitch and the young boy the middle and lower pitch. Perhaps his parents decided he would have a normal teenage time, if he was pushed a little too hard by the previous company, and if he wants to continue with singing later, then he'd be more mature, no one knows realy the story. Perhaps his voice broke and he decided to call it quits. Just have to wait and see, unless someone from Belgium knows his family and could add something.

Michael Junior (Verschuere) was born on April 21, 1986 in Bruges St. Lucas, Belgium and grew up in Geidelberg straat. He made his singing debut in March of 1998 with Helmut Lotti at the Casino of Oostende in Belgium.

Something of a mystery. There are various fan sites with links to his official websites. But his official websites have ... disappeared. According to an MJ Yahoogroup, he switched to a new management company, THEY took down his existing sites, and nothing has been heard or seen of him since. Very strange.
