  • @myguitardream1 Well I guess it must work as it was created by Berklee College of Music. I thought this stylus pick was just for practice purposes and I've seen lots of comments suggesting it makes the tone of the guitar sound like shit but this guy is producing a great guitar tone. I'm thinking of buying one. Just can't seem to find the right pick. So far the best pick I've found that works for me is Jim Dunlop Celluloid Pick 1.0mm.

  • @Hertsman50 Have you tried the Jazz III picks? there all i use and they allow me to pick really fast

  • @DethroneTheCorrupt I did try jazz III picks many years ago when I first started playing but never got on with them. My picking technique has improved lots since then so will give them another go. Thanks for the tip, much appreciated. I'm just wondering if down tuning a semitone might also help with speed or maybe using thicker strings?

  • Hey guys, there is no one way to pick. Have to go with what works for you. Spoke to Mike Batio about this at length ... it can all work. Best to have an economical pick stroke if possible. Steve Morse has an unusual picking style, works for him! Also Vinny Moore picks more from the elbow and he's great. No rules! Rock on. \m/

  • He's picking moving his elbow, and doing this he uses the tricep and the shoulder that are contracted...It's not retarded, it's biomechanics

  • @DoV690 Well he must be doing something right in order to sound that fucking amazing?

  • I see a lot of tension in your arm and shoulder! And also it seems that you are picking with your elbow, and not with your wrist!

Well, the important thing is always to have a good tone, but i think that is better to be relaxed when playing...

  • @DoV690 Tension in his arm and shoulder....what the fuck??? Please don't come on here with your retarded comments...lol

  • @DoV690 When you do a pick stoke with a wrist motion there will be tension of your forearm muscles. An elbow motion will use different muscles to move the pick. Tension is a result of muscle movement. Being relaxed when playing, you probably mean by that to play wiithout excessive tension. BTW Jeff Hanneman from Slayer plays with a similar technique, he's been doing it forever and it doesn't stop him from playing very fast and going on tour.

  • Do you prefer your Suhr standard or the Music man Carl?

  • Wow - I want that pick!
