if we as a country want to start saving money then for a start we should stop bailing out failing EU economy's by giving them Billions of pounds! like Ireland for example(who are independent & want no part of Britain)& Portugal,& now if Brussels have there way we (the UK tax payer) will have to bail out Greece with another 4 billion pounds! We are not a part of the single currency club, for a reason I might add, so lets stop bailing out those who are,& look inward to bail out ourselves first.
If Alex Slamond wants to borrow money for Scotland and be responsable for Scottish finances, perhaps he can ask the Scottish people to foot the bill for the borrowing that's been needed to bail out RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) and other Scottish led failures..
He won't do that though, he's quite happy for English tax payers to bail out Scottish failures but not treat English people equally.. You can't have it both ways Alex ...
@RockofEngland I'm happy with that in exchage for the return of the £300 odd billion we sent in oil revenues and indeed the £13.6 billion a year we send now. Oh yeah and only AFTER we've sorted out the debts of Nat West and Halifax.
NatWest and Halifax are both owned by RBS, the bank bail out was nearer £800 billion.. The English taxpayer is subsidising Scotland and has been for a long time, to the point where Scotland get £1,500 a year spent per person more than their English counterparts.
The oil does not make up for the short fall.. You really do need to get informed
I think it is yourself who needs to be properly informed in the fall of the Germano-Franco banks then the bail out was done on a proportional basis. What that means is that the same bank was bailed out by the 2 nations.
After all the total ammount spent IN Scotland does not match up the the tressury figures, as the count the ammount spent on the behalf of Scotland IN ENGLAND.
For Example the defence figures where the actual monies spent in Scotland was £0.8 billion LESS than the official treasury figures.
Now Given that the MOD stopped counting when the deficent that Scotland had paid out and recieved nothing in return got to £10bn and that was a number of years ago. Who subsided who?
and lets not start on the Scottish oil if you want to know more read the McCrone report of the 70s inteesting reading
Vince I want to suck your increadibly small penis. I hope you don't get fired and fuck off back to they Labour party. What you have to say is really worth while.
