  • You should come to New York and visit FIT to see for yourself. There have been MANY changes since this video.

  • I want to go here too after i finish high school!!! I want to become a fashion stylist. I have gone on the website many times, but I bet the real thing is better :)

  • i just love it !

  • I think the Advertising & Marketing Communications program would be for you.

There are courses in Journalism and Fashion Journalism.

There is also a lot of student publications you could work with.

    W27

    WFIT

  • I want to go to F.I.T for fashion journalism. Is F.I.T one of the best schools for that?

  • Back in 1973, when I attended, they only offered A.A.S. degrees. I majored in Fashion Buying/ Merchandising. The experience there was great.

  • @notbestfriends

    Hi,

    What are you doing today?

I think FIT has grown a lot since 1973.

Most programs offer a BS degree.

  • @cokkinos

After F.I. T I went to work for Macys, did a short stint as an ass't buyer & then spent a couple of yrs. as a dept. mgr; first in ladies, then in mens. An apparel supplier offered me a job in their showroom so I split. The money was much better. In the years following I had a couple of businesses I started (non-apparel). Good luck!

  • What fashion courses should I take if i wanna be a professional wadrobe stylist AND designer, i wanna know All I need to know everything

  • Whats Better In Fashion Designing ??

Academy Of Art San Francisco VS. FIT ???

  • FIT is a world renown center for fashion and design education.

  • @LolliPapaNadine FIT will give you way more knowledge and internship experience due to it's location in New York and experienced staff.

  • can i double major at FIT?

  • It is one of SUNY, not CUNY, correct? Interesting..I need to workout to fit into my pretty clothing lol Very fashionable video^^

  • IM planning to go for fall 2010 In jewelry design but i need to finish this semester my other clases in PR. DO I STILL HAVE TIME TO APPLY FOR FALL 2010? THANKS !!!!

  • I want to major in photography at FIT. Though this promo doesn't show much of it. :/

  • I've been looking into FIT too for its program in Advertising and Marketing Communications BS. I am highly attracted to it for many reasons. One is that it is in New York City so the internships and opportunities are endless. Would anyone recommend it or have any insights that you think I should know?

    Thanks!

  • @killerlipsonrai

FIT is amazing, I graduated 15yrs ago and still am very active with the school. The teachers are great and YES being in the center of NYC is key for a strong future in our fields. The fashion, graphic design, marketing and photography programs are on the mark! Good luck!

  • @killerlipsonrai - I'M also thinking about furthering my studies in this area at FIT and i think its a great career choice if u want to put your creativity to work and be in the mist of the world of fashion. So i completely recommend it. Good Luck.

  • i would like to work in marketing and merchandising

  • @rdrx92

  • why is it a "school"? & is it worth attending?

  • There is an Art & Design side and a Business & Technology side.

What do you want to do with your education?

What field do you want to work in?

    Michael Cokkinos

  • what about their business program?

  • There is an entire "school" dedicated to Business and Technology at FIT.

  • The requirements are a 3.0 gpa and an unbelievable artistic portfolio. The school doesn't focus on grades but rather ability and potential (depending on your major).

  • Yea, I have been looking into it, I'm only 14 tho XD, but your right they love an unbelievable portfolio and like you said, not as much on grades but your sewing skills and artistic talent XD. check out some of my sketches aswell please XD.

  • i got a question what are the requirements\..

for this school,is it really expensive?

  • i'd really love to go to study there! but i'm from spain, and i'm still 15:P... and i don't speak english good enough... i don't know what to do. Fashion designing is my dream, but i think is too far. What i should do??thanx and peace!

  • Go for it!! Live your dreams..

Work on your english, sketch away! If you really, really want something, you'll get it! But you have to work for it!

    Good luck! X

  • thanks!! i'll do!
