  • I am from Czech republic and I am so happy that in America somebody play czech music.

  • @MrOrganist007 This is England!! hehe

  • @jghcky And what?

  • wonderful *****

  • What a wonderful piece on such a magnificent instrument in such a beautiful cathedral. I too hale from Woodbridge in Suffolk where we too were entertained by Carlo Curly. I almost missed it. He was accompanied on the newly renovated organ of St Marys by Giles Brightwell, one time assistant organist at Durham Cathedral. It was a formidable clash of the Titans!

  • I heard John Scott Whiteley play the Durufle Toccata on this after the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols last Christmas (2009). His technique was formidable and the sound, in all its beauty, was devestating. The only word that can describe the entire experience was phenomenal.

  • Simply incredible! I live in Suffolk, UK and the organ in St. Peter's Church, in Sudbury - Suffolk - is awesome, not like this though. St. Peter's in Sudbury have just had Carlo Curley one of the most renowned organists play there - I was a bit put out at not being to see it... Simply fantastic - York Minster is the best.

  • I love hearing the Francis Jackson version of Norman Cocker's Tuba Tune on this organ.....every time I hear the reeds it sends shivers down my spine....ohhhhhh

  • its a fantastic organ to play on, i played buxtehude on here a few years ago and ive heard a recital from john scott whiteley which was fantastic!

  • I have just returned from England and visited York Minster while there. I was allowed to play the organ as well, and it is a fantastic instrument. I felt really blessed to be able to play there.

  • Hi Mr Pennington u rule ha ha and i cant join drums coze my mum says i will give up on it ha ha

  • Bravo ! great performance. Thanks for sharing.

  • I can remember standing in front of this instrument a few years ago with the organist playing Toccata and Fugue. I was spellbound...

  • I love all organ works of this very important Czech baroque composer.

  • Neither is he Czech or of baroque era. He was the classical period

  • Josef F. N. Seger was born in Repin near Melnik (central part of Bohemia, cca. 30 km north to Prague) and lived in Prague for all his life. He spoked several languages, his native language was Czech. Seger's music is of Czech late baroque type.

  • Thankyou for telling me this, i never actually knew this! I always assumed that he was of a classical period but yes after looking up his biography he is more in the late baroque period, his music is very good indeed
