To all considering buying this camera, beware of its notorious lens shadow. You won't see it in these pics since the flash was not needed due to natural light conditions, but it will cast a shadow of its lens indoors or in low-light situations. Check out my video review of it before you spend $350 on this camera.
hi, it's fantastic!!! i have this camera but i can't get this photo you're great! can you tell me the settings?? only my colors i understood..but in P mode? or AUTO? with macro or supermarco mode?
thank you. All in P mode with sharpness set to +2. There is a mixture of super macro and macro, but don't use any zoom with macro or focus is difficult. ISO 80, plenty of light and be sneaky!
i set sharpness to +2 and contrast to -1 for best results. Use the smallest focus area and then focus on an area showing high contrast. Zoom from a distance to a smallish object gives a better depth of focus - i.e. blurs the background better than going in close and using macro unless using super macro.
I'm using the same camera, do you mind sharing your camera settings and color configuration when you took all these macro shots. they look lovely! thanks!
I ordered this camera and it comes tomorrow and I had been wondering what its macro capabilities were. Thankyou so much for this, no one else seemed to really cover it!
what?? the pictures i take with this same camera arent this detailed. all the fine details appear all blurry or smudgey. how do you get them this good?
This is a really good camera. I've had one for three months now, and I'm so pleased with its performance, that I've decided to cancel my plan to get a DSLR this Christmas. Who wants to lug around a heavy DSLR, when this camera can not only produce fantastic shots, but is pocketable as well ! For those who are wavering about purchasing this camera, my advice is, " Go for it. You'll never regret your decision."
How do you get the blurry background effect please??

@scroaticle
you are right!!! i use the TV mode 1\15 & 400 or less ISO to avoid flash and its solve the problem but you need to hold your hand and don't move!
This camera worth the money! very recommended!!
