I'm using gameshark and I am holding R+S then pressing Z when it says so and so has fainted but nothing happens am i doing something wrong.

Oh hey guys, I got it myself. Apparently you have to enter the code, the restart the game with A + B + SELECT + START. Then when you kill a pokemon you hold down R + A (The joypad configuration you have on your VBA, which for me was W and A). Then if you hold it down you keep gaining 5,000 exp until you let go.

Ehh, this does not work. Everywhere I go it says to hold down the R and A button, which is my W and A button, but I never get the exp. I tried the R and A even though that isn't my configuration, then I tried this. It is not keyboard controls, it has nothing to do with that. It has to do with what button = what key on the keyboard.

@chris657garcia IDK why u guys are having so much problems I just installed and reinstalled the game and used the cheat and it worked fine. Instead of holding R+S try holding R only on the keyboard (hold the letter R) and tap on Z. I did all this without changing my controls and it worked fine.

The codes work. Apparently, some VBAs have this problem where if you hold "L" and "R", the game doesn't let you press anything else. To get around this you have to quickly press "a" then hold "L" and "R". Timing is hard as hell though. hope it helps

I just deleted my emulator and rom and reinstalled it again and I used the code and it worked for me. As soon as they say the pokemon fainted hold on to R and S on the keyboard than press Z. Than the exp will power up as its powering up let go of R and S and keep pressing Z.

It helps if you just tell us what keys you'd press if it was on an actual gameboy, that way we can see what keys that corresponds to on our emulators.

@Chicken0895 Make sure your using the default controls. Z would be your A button and X would be your B button. R+S are only used on the keyboard.

Ya i reset my controlls to teh defalt then tried it...is it my emulator....i hit the buttons when it says you have gained X amount of exp points and i still only gain that amount...Is R supposed to correspond with any controlls or just hit it on the keyboard?...the cheat sounds cool and i would love to use it but it doesnt seem to want to work for me

@507ID5N1PER Well thts odd that never happned to me maybe you should have used the Exp points when it was like around 20 or 30. Cause I used it on a lvl 22 arron and it took it to 28.
