I don't use the term masterpiece lightly or often...but this album certainly epitomizes that term to me for her. I honestly don't know where I'd be or who I'd be if I never heard this album. A vitally important record from all aspects.
@whiteeye212 This song actually saved my life in that situation. If I hadn't heard the lines "I've got me some horses to ride on, to ride one they say that your demons can't go there/as long as your army keeps perfectly still." I would have died.
I began my life as a catholic, became a protestant in an age of five, and now, 12 years old, after having found all other religions dead and cruel, mine has become good music. Tori Amos is the main godess:)

I haven't been able to get into Tori's stuff pretty much since "Boys For Pele" or maybe "Choirgirl", but that's no slight on her. I will never forget how incredible this album was and obviously still is. I bought it in Italy, close to Verona, when I was there with my parents in 1998. I remember listening to this album, sitting in the backseat, driving along Lake Garda. Feels like a million miles away, but perhaps it's much longer.
This album sustained me through some seriously messed up **** back in the 90s. Now it's just a beautiful series of incredibly beautiful songs, but I'll always remember how it aided me then.
@roviscoyt there s 2 collections you can have. TALES OF A LIBRARIAN is a good one if you are not a Tori's fan, is only if you know some of her songs, but if you really wanna have a great jewel, you must buy THE PIANO COLLECTION with 5 cds, a great book inside about her carreer and some rare and b sides, you ll love it!
