Saw these guys in Austin in the 90s and they were a forgettable pop punk band. Then Sunny Day Real Estate came out and they totally jumped that train. Dude became a poor mans Jeremy Enigk. Their is a difference between being influenced by a singer and totally ripping him off. This guy didn't seem to care about that. The cadence, the timbre, everything. sad.
I think Mineral was very influenced by Sunny. But, i dont he ripped them off. I can distinguish between Mineral and Sunny. I cannot distinguish between Puddle of Mudd or Nirvana sometimes. Because, Puddle of Mud ripped off Nirvana. Oh wait, who did Nirvana rip off?? the pixies? Does that make Nirvana a bad band? They still write good music, is all im trying to say.
i always see arguments about emo on these types of bands. yes! it is emo! but its not the emo you know if you're obviously freaking out over it. get over it and hear the song, than compare it to hawthorne tits and than come back. this is good stuff right here. and its emo. not this modern day black and red goth shit.
ink and dagger... haha eric wareheim. i'm an atheist myself, but this is a favorite band and i'd love to share it with some of my christian friends given the chance.
an acquired taste? Mineral was THE emo band and one of the groups that created and defined that genre but every single idiot kid like you that think fall out boy and all that other shit is "emo" or indie rock have absolutely no idea where this type of music came from.
go listen to my chemical romance and kill yourself.
I dont listen to my chemical romance you retard..I was around playing shows with these bands when I was in highschool. I was saying to a jerk off who was making fun of the vocals that it is an acquired taste. I grew up when emo evolved from screamo. bands like 400 yrs, sleepytime trio, ink and dagger..etc.

@PaintballRush222 Did I say the music was? Christ, I hate the internet.
mgersting 1 year ago
@mgersting Yeah but you implied it subliminally when you hinted that Chris was christian. What was the point of even saying it then?
