This is such a a deep, sad, powerful and emotional song. A b-side nowadays for Elvis, but so, so beautiful. His incredible voice at the last verses, particularly, combined with the drums, so rich, so full of expectation. Elvis was an absolute master when it came to really "dress" and feel the song. He made lyrics his story. He meant every word of it as he had written them. I guess that's why he will always be my #1 singer.

Mr. Zecalran, you really talked to him???in Germany,we were looking for the Hotel where Elvis lived at the time he was in the army and wasn't very clear on the map. the hotel,which he bought later,had a picture on the map but walls and main door were changed over the years.we stopped one man to ask him and he smiled and said he was Elvis neighbor &helped him escape many times..he told us amazing stories..it only makes me wish i was born at that time to see him at least 1 time.WE LOVE YOU ELVIS!

I think his vocals in May 1971 was his best in terms of hitting them notes. Damn, the last note of the song gives me the chills. His vocals later (1974-1977) were so powerful but it sounded 'drugged'. If you listen to his voice from Stax session to his final recordings in the Jungle Room in Graceland, you could hear in his voice that he was bloated. Try listening to 'I Got A Feeling In My Body' and you'll get what I mean.
