  • Strokin' the guinea pig.

  • cool vid! I just bought a Glock 19-23 Advantage Arms 22lr conversion kit... a lot due to your vid. Thanks man!

  • I found your video and got excited cause I'm having trouble removing the extractor spring from the slide on my conversion unit and you mentioned a slide disassembly in the video. the firing pin assembly is easy to remove but beyond that, it is different than a Glock. Have you ever removed the extractor pin and extractor from yours or not? If so, does it take quite a bit of pretty aggressive pounding with a pin punch to remove? Thanks,

  • i just got mine today lol didnt have to wait months, do Winchester work i loved them i hated the rems cuz they were really dirty in my 10/22's. could you go and take out them screws on the slide??

  • Outstading vid... 5stars

  • Was that the music from Crocodile Dundee?

  • Everybody talks about how great this kit is and how easy it is to install but I noticed there is not a single video on You Tube showing "a complete disassembly" - Not just removing slide cover plate and the firing pin but also how to remove the extractor pin, extractor and extractor spring in case it gets damage, plus the few other internal parts. Does this means we have to send it to California everytime something internal gets damage or malfunction? That really sucks!

  • no reason to jump to false conclusions. there is a rolled pin than holds the extractor in place. it's just like the firing pin retaining pin on the bolt of a ruger mark iii. just tap out the pin and out comes the extractor and spring. if you look on the AA website, you will see where you can order parts. they have the extractor there for 7 bucks.

  • @250rapid what you see in this video are all of the internal parts minus the extractor, sprind and pin. i've already addressed this. so no worries about "other internal parts" failing because they don't exist.

  • Looks like the answer might be no, but not sure from the vid. Can it accept standard glock front and rear sights if you want it to match your carry/competition weapon?

  • Yes it takes standard glock sights

  • Very nice vid man. I laughed at the end when you had your guinea pig with you! Very unexpected.

  • if i had that kit i'd take the glock squirrel hunting :D

  • I went to try for the first time my new advantage arm conversion kit 22LR today for my Glock 32. I had about 6 jams of 500 rounds. I used Remington Golden Bullet as recommended by the manufacture. However when cleaning the kit I noticed a little notch in the barrel. I dont know if this is normal, or if is product of dry fire when I removed the kit out the frame.

    .

    thanks

  • I must say GREAT vid. You are always filled with lots of great info and facts. From this review I decided to pic up a conversion for my 23 since I'm a first time gun owner. I figured this would help me with training and muscle memory while keeping my wallet heavier then buying 500 rounds of 40mm at a time. Took a lot of calls to track a conversion kit down tho.

  • No problem man I'm glad the video could help.

And yes finding them can be very tricky right now. I'm pretty sure Advantage Arms has them backordered for 6+ months so finding one in stock is really your only option.

    Thanks for watching

  • So i have shot 300+ rounds and Im very happy with the conversion. I went with the shoot 50 clean shoot 50 clean then 100 clean ect. I have shot Rem. gold so far buy I have some CCI I plan on shooting this week. Wish I had the ability to go about to the back yard and do some plinking.. This is a must buy if you plan on shoot your gun a lot and want to keep some money over the long term.

  • Sweetest advantage arms video ever! The stop motion was awesome and really brought out the detail. Excellent shooting demonstrations too! I am really glad that I have one on order! Thank You!!!

  • Great vid.. was havin trouble with that stupid ejector.. thanks.

  • also..i used those Remington Goldens (525 rnd pack) in my CCMG .22 converion kit for my AR15 and they jam every second round. Just in case any of you use the kit for you AR. I've had great luck with all Winchester and Federal rounds for it tho.

  • is it a 7 rnd mag?

  • well i got my license today :) hurrhurr! :p unfortinetly i cant get my hands on a advantage arms, so ill be trying to get a sti/marvel .22 convertion kit for a 1911 then :)

  • Nice video I have been seriously been considering purchasing a kit what with all the high cost of ammo (thats if you can find it)and all.

  • So would you say the .22 conversion is accurate enough for hunting?

  • I don't know about that one man , what type of hunting you talking about?

  • Rabbits, squirrels, woodchucks. That kind of thing.

  • Well the kit itself could pull off 15-20 yard accuracy for small game like that but the glock trigger is the biggest thing that will throw your accuracy off with the kit.

  • Great video man! I had no idea on how to take apart the advantage arms kit, and now I was able to look into the firing pin section to see what the trouble was. Thanks again!

  • Yep no problem man , I thought this video would help clear up the problem you was having.

Just remember man if you still have any questions feel free to ask.

    Thanks for watching

  • Nice review, cat. The Guinea Pig was a nice touch, but I esp liked the stop motion animation. Funny, I recognized your accent as I had been watching the vid...something souned familiar - turns out I had watched some of your other Ruger 10/22 vids months ago. p.w. that Guillermocqb had the EXACT same posts on a couple forums re: the AA kit...even down to the 'this ain't a plug for Ruger' bit...so it isn't personal to you, LAWLZ, he's on a mission.

  • Thanks for the supprt man and thanks for watching.

I know he must have really got a bad lemon or something cause I rarely hear anyone bash AA 22lr Kits. ( Everyone gets a hater from time to time )

  • Frequent jams, miss feeds and stove pipes. Great if you want a lot of practice at auto pistol clearing drills. A waste of money for a serious shooter.

  • Well you must have got a lemon cause me along just about everyone I have talked to love their AA kits.

I rarely have any problems with my AA kit , just keep her clean & wet and she'll work fine.

If your having that many problems with your kit give Advantage Arms a call.

PS: I am a serious shooter

  • My comments are not meant to offend. Glocks almost never fail. The AA conversions are not as reliable; they're are fickle about the ammo you feed them. I own four for different Glocks. As a shooting instructor, I bought them for training. They a good for instruction on many levels. I want people to know about the shortcomings because the AA conversion costs about what one would pay for a Ruger MK III. This is not a plug for Ruger; just an observation.

    Correction: For serious shooters.

  • No its cool man I don't mind anyone giving their opinion on any of the videos I do or products I review , its just I also must give my opinion and as a competition shooter who owns 6 glocks ( 2 with AA kits ) I must say that the AA kit has always worked great for me.

And after chatting with hundreds of AA kits owners they all pretty much agree with me , so thats why I say call Advantage Arms cause no companies perfect & from time to time them make a Lemon.

I don't get paid for these videos

  • No problem man , I hope you enjoy your AA kit as much as I do mine.

    Thanks for watching.

  • I took my G-21 and the conversion kit out yesterday for the first time. I shot 250 rounds through it. Mostle CCI mini mags and shot flawlessly. What is sweet is after I converted back to 45 ACP I was more accurate and confident than ever. What a slick set up! I love it!

  • Sweet man , I'm glad it worked out great for you.

  • Is 36gr the best to use in AA kits?

  • Thanks for doing that windmill type thing @ 2:30 I did that with my Hi Point and it functioned flawlessly

  • thanks for the video. it helps make the decision to by the conversion easier

  • I am getting one for my G-19. Yee haww!

  • did you break in the barrel like you would a rifle? One shot clean then one shot clean?

    great vid

  • Well I did brea kin the barrel but not to the degree of a rifle barrel. ( More like 5 shots clean , 5 shots clean , 20 clean ,20 clean , 50 , clean..... ).

I'm sure breaking it in will help this conversion but this is by no means a target handgun & Should be thought of more like a training tool.

    Thanks for watching man

  • great vid. Sorry if i missed it but what model glock is this?

  • Glock 17

    Thanks for watching man

  • do you like the remington gold .22 bullets in rifles? i have alot of problems with them. they always jam in my remington nylon 66. the ones with the regular plain unfinished lead tip are the best ive found in semi auto .22 rifles.

  • Well I have used them in my Ruger 10/22 and they seem to do ok but other then that rifle no I have not really tried using them.

  • Love the vid. Good to see that limp wristing dosent effect the conversion, not that that is a problem with a .22. but whats the grave about? Just askin

  • That grave is my old dogs grave.

  • sorry man.... i know the feeling. had to put down my dog bout a month ago

  • how'd u like the remmington gold 22 bullets they gummed my walther p22 up and misfired a lot i hated them and will never buy another box. i prefer federal

  • REM Golden bullets seem to be the best cheapest round to use in the AA kits.

AA kit says not to use federal.

  • Feeding issues or is there something about federal bulk we should know? Feeding issues I can deal with, lots of guns reject at least one type of ammo.

  • I really don't know cause I have never used federal in it yet but from what I hear from people that have they say they get alot of Failer to eject & Failer to feed.

  • Yes they have a terrable recoil spring, must be replaced with a diffrent brand thats compatable. Google to find ones that will work.

  • How dirty does your slide get? I have a buckmark that I run pretty hard, and it doesn't get too bad...but the idea of all that crap blowing down into my carry g19(or is it 17 only?) doesn't seem too wonderful.

  • Its a G17 and it does not get to dirty ( Hell after 300 rounds+ the slide still felt pretty damn smooth ).

  • Cool, I love the idea of being able to train to the same trigger and controls. Never mind train from a decent holster.

  • Wonderful vid,KB.The G17 is nice.G 21 is nice too bec the mag loads right into the Kriss V SMG :) . Great animation! Hollywood is next.Tell me...BTW...does that pistol-packin' bunny have a "hare" trigger ???

  • ( "hare" trigger ) LOL thats was a good one but he's a guinea pig and his name is smokes.

Thanks for watching man and tell you want if I ever get hollywood rich then I'll hook you up with some cash.

  • I can't get over your cool video effects. The claymation part is way cool. Another good video.

  • Thanks man just trying to Mix it up alittle.

  • Yea, I'm popping off a lot more 22 ammo these days with the price of ammo going up, good video bro

  • Thanks man

  • cool vid,bro

  • The soundtrack? Was that from Young Guns? Love your vids, check out mine if you please!!!!!! Cheers!!!!!!

  • Crocodile dundee soundtrack and I will check out your clips also.

    Thanks man

  • that's what it was. it sounded real familiar but i couldn't put my finger on it.

  • lol ya that was a hard one to guess.

  • Seriously, they just keep getting better and better! Thanks again dude, and I like the music you use.

  • Thanks man

  • stop motion?! man, yur gettin fancy on us.

  • I'm trying ( Key word TRYING lol )

  • Nice vid, very informative.

    Cool stop motion stuff!

    Keep up the good vidz!

  • Thanks man

  • Good vid, your ABSOLUTELY correct about the ammo. I have this conversion for my glock 20, and anything other than rem gold it jams every 3 or 4 rounds. Good job man, looking forward to more.

  • Does it work pretty good for the frame?

  • Excellent videos. I've enjoyed watching them all and learned alot. I got a real kick out of your G-Pig. My wife and I have 3 living with us. 2 short hairs and a medium hair. They are hilarious little fellows.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks man its good to see a fellow pig owner lol

  • That was a great video, those clips with animation were awesome. You used a grave site as a backdrop for your intro which was awesome too.

Its great to see you do a video on .22's they're fun to shoot and cheap.

5 stars for the crafty camera work!

  • Thanks man

  • One more thing, what about the weight of the AA slide compared to the factory Glock slide, is the weight the same? Thanks.

  • No the AA slide is much lighter ( If I had to guess I would say its half the weight of a normal slide )

  • lol good shit like always the guinea pig was funny as fuck lol A+++

  • lol thats my pig man

  • Gold Dot, right?

    Great video!

  • Gold Dot? come again

  • Ammo from Speer. I guess you were referring to another kind of ammo.

  • Ohh ya it was Remington Golden Bullet

  • Great clip.

.22 conversions are a very nice way to get more range time in without breaking the bank. I am looking for a good one for my Colt 1911.

  • Advantage Arms also has them for the 1911's also.

Maybe check out there link I posted it in the info box.

  • Nice vid!!! I like the frame by frame assably/reassambly, shots. What was with he grave in the begining did I miss something? Take care!

  • No I was just changing up the background ( that was My old dog's grave. )

  • From watching your videos past and present I've learned one thing for sure...you my friend are an excellent shot!!! :) Another Superlative Clip! Looks like a pretty cool .22 conversion unit. 5 stars for you and another 5 for the guinea pig!!!!! lol "RugerSix"

  • lol thanks man

  • Nice video, i also have a guinea pig :)

  • Hell ya I have 2 one short hair and one long hair guinea pigs.

  • I really liked the stop motion effect on the assembly/disassembly. Awesome video!

  • Ya that stop motion turned out better then I thought it would.

  • Grate review!! It looks like a shooter, and that's the first time I've ever seen a glock pass the limp wrist test. Thanks you so much, and sorry to hear about your loss.

  • lol your right thats the first time I seen one pass the limp wrist test also.

  • Awesome video as usuall. I definatly need to get one of these kits. How loud are they to shoot? Sorry about the loss of your dog, do you have any videos or pics of your dog that died?

  • Its got a nice little pop but its not as near as long as say the 9mm.

I'm sure I have a few normal pic's of old buster around here somewhere but no digital pic's.

  • nice video and nice kit! ive got that on my g27 and love it!

  • What type of Ammo do you use? ( If you don't mind me asking )

    Thanks for watching man

  • Thanks for another great vid, especially since its on .22. With ammo prices lately thats about all I can afford! I like the step by step photo-videos. But I have to disagree with about the Remington golden bullets. I've had a lot of dud rounds from those 550rd boxes. I've had way better luck with the 550rd Federal value packs. Maybe I'll give the Remingtons one more chance though. Anyway...Thanks again and keep up the good work!...........oh yeah, nice guinea pig

  • Its cool but Advantage Arms Say's Don't use Federal Ammo in there kits thats why I talked about the Ammo alittle.

Thanks man his name is smokes

  • Interesting....I wonder what it is about the Federal round that makes them suggest not using it. Well, its usually a wise choice to do as the manufacturer suggests!

  • I'm not sure man thats a good question but they suggest what brands to use and not to use and so far then been right so I'm taking their word for it lol.

  • Useful info and fine presentation...

  • who died

  • My old dog alittle over a year ago
