Not bad advice. I see you have based the attack and defense techniques off Muay Thai and Boxing, however, I prefer a mixture of Karate, Muay Thai, and Boxing myself. Muay Thai being based on Power, and the proper use of eight limbs. Boxing, being based on fluid quick movements and generating power from the hips. Karate, generating power from the ground up based on grounded movements, and all of the above. I don't blink anymore when sparing, I don't even get adrenaline anymore. used to it.
after watching 3 of your videos i went from cowering in a corner while my brother wailed on me to landing a few good punches on him and standing my ground. Thanks!
@FightTipsVideos Helmet guard - good way to get hurt at the forearms/elbow or to get your thumb/fingers/top of the fist pushed in you eyes or against your nose when being hit
lol thats what your dad did when i went to rape him, but it didnt work. so i rapedhim anyway. like ill rape you. and all your firstborns in your family. for ever.
@AssortedBullshit if you want to learn real fighting, you should learn kickboxing. Box is a style that you can't defeat everyone with it. And there is no the best style of fighting, the best is he who knows his style better than everyone, even good boxer can defeat everyone if he fights good. I want to tell beginners that if they want to learn fighting, try to learn a style that is useful against everyone and it's not hard to learn. I learned from kickboxing and now i made my own style ...
@AssortedBullshit I fought a boxer, it was kinda hard to block some of his attacks, but boxers don't fight with legs and i won cause i had good hits with legs and he couldn't block some of my attacks, because i have mixed style of fighting and he didn't recognize some of my attacks, but he had really good right hand punch :D knocked me down once. boxers are expecting from you to hit with hands, but others like kickboxers can block attacks from legs and hands and attack with both.
At 2:38, if you get out of the punch`s way, and you're inexperienced, you will likely fall to the ground. Even if you just lose balance, there will not be much power in your uppercut.
i love these. im watching this because some kid at my school (im 13) called me out and i gotta watch my back pretty much. i fight your style, and this kid fights with hay-makers and low-kicks. he never blocks. hes all offense. thanks for the tips man, i feel confident in this now.
i haven't check your other videos but i'll tell you one more thing, what about the legs? and you're talking too much, show it on real fight in street or something. and i have a questing to you - Have you fought in real?
good tips, although i wouldnt recommend anyone attempting to parry a punch in a street fight, its to risky, another good tip to keep in mind when your in helmet guard its a perfect way to shift to there mid section under their punches for a mid body clinch, or to work the body, thats one thing i think everyone should think about, especially in a street fight, body shots, they are extremely effective in a street fight, most people arent ready for one or even thinking about one comming in
I was wondering if you could possibly make a video about a proper diet for a fighter, I know it's not teaching us how to fight but it will certainly help with conditioning for a fight.
Actually when attempting to block punches with your hands up its better to have open palms facing your opponent (old school thai). Its easier to put a little stopping power/pushback in the incoming punches, allowing you to absorb the impact. Its also easier to push off your opponent giving you some mobility like parrying the punches and stepping. When wearing gloves either way can work but because of the extra bulk its easier with fists clinched on the forehead , wrists slightly bent outward.
i learned all this stuff where i train man but with small differences its like a self-defense class and MMA too, also i saw in some other video that a guard like the helmet guard covers your peripheral(however its spelled) vision
What;'re your thoughts on throwing kicks in street fights? I'm talking about front kicks and roundhouses. I find most of my power is in my legs, and I've done serious damage with them in previous fights, but what're your thoughts?
good work mate, you ight enjoy Geoff thompson or check out billiardjay's channel- look at bareknuckle by the american fella (as apposed to the irish-more sport). cheerz, yuour young but good
@shawandrew The peek-a-boo isn't just the actual block, it is a sort of style. Tyson said he kept his hands at his chin, and focused more on not getting hit, as opposed to blocking-and-countering. You have to sit and duck the punches, and return your punches before you stand up erect. ("Haha! he said erect!" -- said it for you guys ; )
@FightTipsVideos Great video man. One question, if you are considerably stronger than the guy punching you, would catching the punch be a good idea???
Do you have any suggestions for taking body shots? If someone was using a helmet guard I would be setting them up with jabs, and then when they go in the helmet guard unload on body shots.
how do u defend against a tight in uppercut punch? also how do u defend against wild hammer fist-like punches?

how do u block if the guys hits fast and to the body
InsaneCrazy255 2 weeks ago
one question tho. wouldnt the way you show the "helmet" block leave the side of your head open? and ysing your elbows would leave your body open.
would you just have to move around depending on your opponents punches?

To make yourself block punches more, you have to be scared to get hit.
This'll make your body want to block it more.
