These dogs had been abandoned, right? Maybe previous to this, they'd been abused or neglected severely, some coming out of that period of their lives more damaged than others. Harley could have been one that was effected to such an extent by his experiences, that he can sense when someone is or is about to be in trouble, and instinctivly wants to comfort them.

I've got epilepsy. it's under control with medicines, so I don't suffer attacks. otherwise a dog would be a great safety.

These dogs amaze me. I too have epilepsy and fortunately it's controlled well but if it weren't, I would trust in a seizure dog. It's just incredible how they know before a person even has the aura that one is coming. God bless Harley!

I use to have epilepsy, the seizures are awful. It starts of feeling like you are on the brink of the earth and when it gets worse, you fall off the whole world shatters in your head. Never met a dog that knew when a seizure was coming, that would have been interesting. Very touching story. RIP Harley.
