I admire that more than anything when it comes to music. And as far as the rock hall goes, you can have it. Whats the point of actually submitting this music video or for that matter any music video if the audio is disabled. Maybe they should have a link where if need be you can pay to watch if that is what is required. Not everyone are free loaders I have dvds of eagles live and cds. There are many great musicians worldwide as utube has shown. So utube just submit music videos with audio and remove music video without audio as it only infuriates utube viewers.

@pg1171 you are (like so many others) either very poorly informed or very blinkered to the origins of this song. Felder recorded a few minutes of an acoustic guitar solo on an old cassette. labelled it mexican bolero, and forgot about it.

Henley came by this tape and rang felder to say he like the bit of music with said title they should do something with it, Felder trying to remember what the hell it was said yeah whatever. Henley and Frey then wrote the song we know today from that clip.

He then wrote the Bass line, then the drum track. Don Henley wrote the lyrics with a small input from Frey who "envisioned a weary traveler going down a dark desert highway".

Even after their bitter lawsuits, Felder says of Henley, "That guy could sing the New York phone book and I'd buy it."

He gave credit where it was due.
