I live(d) on Hilton Head when this happened. Part of my childhood, and I'll never forget how this really shook up the southeast. OThe closest Savannah/Hilton Head has ever come to being completely destroyed for a long time.
I was living in Brevard co FL when that storm damn near hit us, we retreated to Tallahassee and I remember clearly the eveacuation on I-95. It was horrible!

i was nine years old when i lost my grandpa to natural causes on September 12.. his funeral was held when floyd hit my area (NYC) on the 16th
