@RedTango According to studio records, that bit of animation was done by Ken Muse for the cartoon "Mickey's Birthday Party" (1942). For more information on this cartoon, google the "Mayerson on Animation" blog.
this is the best thing 2 ever to happen to the world... to bad they don't play anymore tho [rate this a thumbs up if u think they should bring it back]
Actually, the cartoon clip is from "Mickey's Birthday Party" (1942), but was resused in "The Mickey Mouse Anniversary Show" (1968). That's the source of the clip shown here.
I remember this as well. The theme sounds like it's an LP being played at 45rpm and I could never make out the words. The end credits would begin with Mickey Mouse in a biplane flying past King Kong on the Empire State. Kong decides that there's not enough space for another 20th century icon on the screen and scrunches up the plane with Mickey and drops it in his mouth.
Yes, Dave Madden did host one of those episodes, 'coch'....the only thing that's missing after these credits is the very end, where the host {including Backus} would declare, "THE END!".
"THE MOUSE FACTORY" first appeared in syndication in January 1972, and lasted 40 episodes, with most stations carrying the show into 1974 {including WNBC-TV in New York}. This is from a 1972 episode featuring guest host Jim Backus- his topic, I've forgotten what it was....
I understand, but complete episodes of this obscure yet wonderful program are absolutely NOWHERE to be found on the Internet and I have no idea where to look.
If anyone can help, I would very greatly appreciate it.
I tried IMDB and there was a link there to a guy in Chicago who'd done soem research into it but apparently, like many Disney gems, its locked in their vaults for the forseeable future
Looks like I'm gonna have this song stuck in my head forever again...

would you happen to have the Joanne Worley episode? I really want a screencap of her with that Cyril the Horse costume/puppet. :)
My husband and I love to sing that song.

This version was included on an old Dr. Demento radio show where he celebrated extremely short songs. One of the best.

Disney ought to reissue these on DVD as part of their "Treasures" series. I would buy 'em.

Maybe because he introduced "Steamboat Willie" on his show...the first time it had been shown on television in its entirity.

Wlel, except the scene of Mickey playing the sow's teats like an accordion. Beware the FCC!

Incidentally, the animation used in this end title is a "loop" of Mickey's dance from "Mickey's Birthday's Party" (1942)....

Is there even the slightest possibility that you could upload that and any other Mouse Factory episodes you may have onto YouTube?

I am a bit iffy on uploading copyrighted material.
