  • OMG THIS IS AMAZING... I've actually been learning French for about 8 years and while my grammar and everything is ok, my pronunciation was never properly fixed...

Thanks so much for this, I'm gonna go practice :)

  • lol in french the toungue is key

  • je confirme, c'est ça, tu l'as :) (le "u" est bien aussi)

  • @lyakeve You dont know shit.He knows French for sure, the time youtube gives you is so short. Please be more optimistic.

  • Thanks your vid helped me nail the French R!!!

  • people who make videos at home should pay more attention to their backgrounds. I was so distracted by that aerosol can or whatever is in the back right.

  • @ScoutieDog People who watch videos from home should pay more attention to the content of the video and not bitch about someone who is providing a free service to people on the internet to help them learn to speak a language.

  • @ScoutieDog Really? Was it dancin' or something?

  • Thank you so much. That was immensely helpful.

  • hey thanks this is great!

  • I am english and fluent in french, i go to school in france, and nobody can tell I'm english from my accent, Thumbs up if you would like a pronuntiation video

  • Yesterday I thought I got it, but today I forgot how to make this sound.

It never comes out that smoothly, I could never make it on demand.

  • @lyakeve plz calm down -_-

Sa prononciation du "r" est parfaite ( pour un americain )

  • il etait impressionant! merci, beaucoup monsieur.

  • @lyakeve No French person is willing to make videos to help youtubers learn french so this is the best we're gonna get on youtube. Even if his pronunciation is not perfect he still helps us whereas French ppl have perfect pronunciation but don't help the others...

  • @JapaneseAnya I think it's because when a french meet an american (or english), they will speak in english. So in this condition, it's hard to imagine that they need some pronunciation lessons.... when the french has never seen any american trying to speak french !

  • @lyakeve I see your point, it's true that normal french ppl don't see foreigners on daily basis so they can't imagine they'd need pronunciation lessons :) And now that I think of it there are french teachers for foreigners but they get paid...

  • when the word before DU is feminin, its DE LA

ex you said " du lettre R " lettre is feminin so its " de la lettre R "

  • @DaggerNubC2 i meant after DU

  • That was the most helpful way I have EVER seen that explained. "Arbre" used to kill me.....

  • KYO !

  • I appreciate your video. The word that I just can't seem to pronounce is parc... it's pretty tough with the "c" after the ""r". But I will keep practicing.

  • oh wow sounds so much easier. thank you!!!

  • Heck yeah! I got it! So easy with your excellent explanation.

  • thank you so much, finally i understand how to pronounce the french R and can practice it now!

  • "Troathy" you said ? I don't know if it can help you but in French we say this is a "guttural" sound.

  • @Zamensis The only problem with that explanation is that linguistically it is a very soft gutteral compared to some other languages, particularly Arabic and some eastern European languages. So a distinction as being throaty can be helpful in differentiating the two.

  • Great video Dave and the first time I've seen anyone use a simple to understand approach to learning this, thanks for uploading it

  • i have been struggling with R and i tried your trick for a few seconds and seems like it will help me to pick it up with practice. thanks

  • I can't do the gr...it doesn't sound like your gr :S

  • Thanks man, I'm getting back into French and needed to brush up on my accent, your tip about the "ga" to "gr" to "r" really helped!

Also, thanks for introducing me to Kyo; I'd never heard them before this vid, their other stuff seems really good!

  • Kyo <3

  • NICE MUSIC!!! JUST THAT ROCKED MY SOCKS :D I ♥ Kyo!!!

    Thx for the advice mate!

  • Your tip on the back of the tongue and soft palate helped out, i used that trick while using an h and sound better now.

  • quel chanson est ça?

  • @trbrogden09 La première c'est "Tout Envoyer en L'Air" par Kyo et La deuxième c'est "Qui Je Suis" par Kyo.

  • @francais321 cool! merci :D
