its sad but i doubt Max Payne 3 will be as good as the first 2. it doesnt have the same writer (sam lake), it doesnt have the comic book cutscenes, it doesnt have noir. looks kinda like Kane & Lynch but with bullet time

Yeah, this song was like the icing on the cake of sorrow. But i understand. It's impossible to play through an entire Max Payne Game without getting teary eyed somewhere in between.

@jamesjoseph1000 like if you do a series of things it says she died at mansion or if you do diffrent things or beat it on the highest lvl it says she died somewhere inbetween and maybe it would be cool if there was a secret ending where max had dreamed it all and he was really married to her with kids...dunno if thats a little to syfy but i think it would be kinda cool

@jamesjoseph1000 actually if you beat it on the hardest difficulty she survives, but i predict in max payne 3 she is dead none the matter, my theory is that when max is in the other country she is dead and thats all you know, max doesnt say if she died at the mansion or somewhere between then and the time you leave to go to another country,(a city in Brazil im sure). and thats what i think would happen, but if they wanted to make more money and a better game they would make alternate endings

I remember after beating Max Payne 2 and I heard this song in the credits, and I cried my eyes out. After Mona Sax having to die and Max having to go to the hospital at the end and his last words were, "I had a dream of my wife. She was dead. But it was alright." Like everything made sense, Max never said "Goodbye" to his wife in the first one, and he didn't say it to Mona either.

And the reason why it is frequently mentioned is because this song was written for Max Payne 2 (The character of John Mirra, mentioned in the song, is from an in-universe TV show) and featured in its credits. Many of us--myself included--first heard POTF and this song on the credits of Max Payne 2.

Max payne is about how you get your self in conflict with others due to law and crime. sad to say payne has a really stressful, lonesome, PAINFUL life. i had never heard of this band untill my boyfriend (at the time now an ex) completed max payne on the 360 and i had him going over an over the end credits so i could find out who they were i own all 3 of there albums now and they are subsequently now my all time fave band even my 3 children recognize their music. this song still remains my favourite of them all.
