For Shannon: My mom is a funeral director. Depending on how the company is structured it can be very different. Some funeral homes require for you to be on call when not at work, meaning you may have to rush out of home, sometimes in the middle of the night to pick up a body and possibly embalm. Some homes have an answering service so you just handle it during your next shift. It doesn't take that much schooling to get licensed but you do have to do get continuing ed credits.
