  • she was walking fast up that aisle wasn't she!

  • Is it just me or was she really rushing to walk up the aisle lol

  • wtf are the flower girls and pageboys wearing

  • Dianas dress was atrocious!

  • @pelicanus11 I don't think it was atrocious. It was what was in style at the time. The 80s had big wedding dresses.

  • porqué todos los principes y princesas se casan entre otoño e invierno???? mmmmmm¡¡¡

  • Great! ! !

  • The classiest wedding of them all. These two just get on with it without causing total embarrassment to the monarchy. Princess Ann is another one who barely ever gets a mention purely because she has never been considered a glamour queen or a raving beauty but she works like a trojan for all her charities.

  • So you don't remember the embarrassment caused by sophie, in which she was caught on camera telling reporters that she uses her royal status to make millions for her own company, or the topless pic with chris tarrent, although that was before the marrage so she's sort of forgiven

, the "Fake Sheik" Affair scandal was headline news all over the world and really tarnished the royal name, and shes never in the spotlight for that reason alone, not because she keeps herself to herself. same as fergie

  • @thebritinoz you are so right.

  • Now the question I have is who is paying for all this is it the British people if it is why not show the ceremony and the reception if the people are paying for it.

  • why are there always Edward-v-

  • her dress is hideous :S

  • I see this Wedding and for me was Fantastic. Beautiful.

  • Get rid of the Monarchy, they are an echo of an unjust past, built on hierarchy and social elitism. Why should we bow down and respect them for no other reason than they were born into Royalty. Viva UK Republic .

  • @wulfricvonspot I like your thinking!

  • Message to the ROYAL FAMILY. PICK a name beside EDWARD & GEORGE plz enough already.

  • Edward and Sophie...I think this marriage will last longer. They never had the media talk about them so much. I like them as a very simple, down to earth, royal couple.

  • They have been married about 12 years now.

  • YogaNate79, in normal circumstances, Prince Andrew's wedding would not have been the overblown affair it was. It was far more elaborate and expensive than a second son's wedding would usually be, because the monarchy had gotten a huge publicity and tourism boost from Charles's wedding. The hope was to repeat the experience. The Wessexes wanted a smaller, more intimate affair, and in my view, it was far nicer. No, it wasn't "cheap-looking." Simplicity is often more elegant than excess.

  • Very interesting to read such lovely comments from well read people- and these brides are such a tribute to England. I love all these clips of weddings.

  • so what exactly is a not so well read person, a person that doesn't see through rose tinted glasses, the royals are not just about princesses and fairytales, the books you are reading are obviously for the weaker mind, try reading a real book about royals see how glossy it is.

  • One more thing. Viscount Severn and Lady Louise are legally entitled to HRH status, but at the behest of their parents the titles were withheld in hopes that they might live as normal a life as possible. Princess Anne held a similar position with Peter and Zara Phillips, to whom Her Majesty was willing to grant peerage. Upon coming of age, both James and Louise can legally choose to use the titles of Prince and Princess, respectively.

  • Though Her Majesty did break with tradition in not granting a ducal title to Prince Edward upon his marriage, it was announced that he would be created the Duke of Edinburgh, currently held by Prince Philip. Of course, as the oldest male heir, Prince Charles will inherit the title upon the Prince Consort's death. It is assumed that the Prince of Wales would create his brother the Duke of Edinburgh once, upon his ascension to the throne, the title is absorbed into the crown.

  • Edward and Sophie sure got shafted. Charles and Diana, Andrew and Sarah got the whole nine yards with a complete cathedral wedding in central London, horse drawn carriages, and trumpeters, Head fo State and foreign dignitaries. Edward on Sophie on the otherhand got a measily and cheap looking wedding without any frills at St. George's Chapel. We know where Edward and Sophie stand. They got titles of Earl and Countess whereas Andrew and Charles got the fancy titles.

  • YogaNate79,

As I was watching this,I thought the exact same thing.I mean,I liked this wedding (I like any Royal wedding),but if you notice,Charles had the grandest wedding, because he is the future King.Andrew being the second, pretty much got second best, and then the last son,got this.

  • To Gabbycrts: When you are the third son in the Windsor family, that means you are third best and therefore, not good enough.

Chalres and Andrew's little brats got HRH titles whereas Edward's two snots get courtesy titles as Lord and Lady.

  • Oh,yes I know that. You can tell just by looking at this Royal Wedding.Especially,in comparison to Charles and Andrew.

  • Pop Quiz: Would you rather have a quiet, happy marriage like Edward & Sophie, or a media mess? I'd take the smaller wedding for the happier marriage, anyday. (Note: happily married myself)

  • I agree - and to date this is the only marriage of the three that has lasted!

  • @andantino96 What do you mean? Charles and Camilla are still married!

  • Don't agree with Edward and Sophie being 'shafted'. They specifically asked to be married in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. And Westminster Abbey, where Andrew and Sarah were married, is not a Cathedral: it is a private church belonging to the Monarch, as is St George's. Charles and Diana were married in St Paul's Cathedral because Charles specifically wanted it. It is the only Royal marriage ever to take place there.

  • Her dress reminds me of my auntie's wedding...

  • I don't think sophie was ever trying to copy diana and the pearls where a gift from edward for the wedding

  • @lolciro These low IQ idiots have the country thinking for yrs they have Royal Blood, what the heck is that? Unless I missed something in school, its called Red Blood ! Least they got the R, correct. Sitting on your Royal wrinkled rump living off tax $, Called Welfare where I'm from fool. You've sold the whole nation a bunch of buffoonery , while you ride around in some prehistoric buggy, with a stupid teaira on your head. Take that stupid thing off... that belongs to Cinderella

  • @onstageagain What's this about IQ idiots? Dude, you spell teaira - TIARA . So much for casting stones.

  • holding Your dress up as You walk up the steps to the church? No. once Your inside going up the steps (like Fergie did, inside. She looked cute) neither Diana nor Fergie held onto their dresses like that... it just doesn't look Formal enough for a "Royal"

  • Have another look. Diana DOES hitch her skirt up going up the stairs.... big deal.

  • How can anyone compare her to Diana? because She copied her Haircut and said "I said Yes, Please" when asked what she answer to Edward when ask to Marry him... funny didn't Diana say thee exact same thing? Yes, Yes She did!

  • archaic gown, though. ugly necklace, tiara

  • lovely wedding.don't think they'll divorce

  • Despite not being part of the aristocracy she made the first move on Edward Windsor when he visited her office in London; she is a PR expert and very strong willed. She made the right moves....

  • She must have taken notes from the former Windsor brides! She was not born into the aristocracy, but you wouldn't know it.

  • These two will make it ,on maturity level and self confidence sophie is much stronger

  • a lot of people feel the same way about them

  • That woman is very familiar in look with Lady Diana...not as beautiful of course haha

  • I love the Wessex wedding style. It's perfect. More royal weddings should be like this one. I think the day for those fantastical extravaganza style weddings like Wales 1981 and York 1986 is ancient history. Wessex 1999 dawned a new better style.

  • totaly agree

  • One of the few of our royal couples that hasn't fallen apart.

  • Don't count your dragons before they hatch. Not to be mean, but the family doesn't a good record.........

  • quite a small wedding compared to his brother prince charles wedding back in 1981!

  • They can't divorce, look at all his older brothers and sister..they are all divorce! I think Edward realized that and wouldn't divorce her, because he really loves her!

  • I agree.

  • doesnt compare to princess di i dnt think anything will top that wedding

  • It has been anounced that they are expecting their second child together

  • Well Anne got divorced, then Andrew then Charles so Edward is the last hope to hold his first marriage together.

  • and I dont think the girl is a commoner either. Looking Good Andrew. and your baby is adorable

  • Bets on: How long before they divorce?

  • I wonder why TRHs'have not been created duke and duchess'.......how sad for edward....bald!! he used to be very handsome.

  • He will become duke of Edinburgh when his father Prince Philip (current duke of Edinburgh) passes.

  • The Queen will also have to die for that to happen, as if the Duke dies before Her Majesty, Charles will be Duke of Edinburgh until his accession, at which time all of his titles (Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, etc.) will merge with the crown, making it possible for them to be granted again.

  • He was 35 when he got married in 1999
