A real Punky Brewster?...made a guest appearance, credited as Peyton B.(maiden name,Brewster)Rutledge in the episode "The Search", a childhood crush of NBC programming chief Brandon Tartikoff who granted permission for the shows name. Incidentally, Punkys dog Brandon was named after him, who used to follow the original Punky around just like Brandon in the show.

A few forgottens, 2. The only lead to Punkys mothers whereabouts was in a episode called "Yes Punky There is a Santa Claus"(season2?), where Punky asks santa(Henry) to bring her mother back. Punky stopped believing but was suprised(w/Henry) on christmas morning when a gift for Punky was found containing a jewelry box w/ the initials S.B.(Susan Brewster) that played a song she remembers. Punkys gift for her mother was also missing!!? The real santa or Susan Brewster?....Gotta love it.

Thanks for posting this! I loved this show as a kid. My mum used to put my hair up in 2 pigtails like Punky and I really related to her (except for the clothes; I used to ENVY Punky's wardrobe! haha). I can't believe I still find it gut-bustingly funny after all these years. They should put it back on TV; only reason I can think of why they wouldn't is it might have Christian references.
