  • Great old song, it was written about 10 miles from where I live,R. Fisher Boyce wrote this in the 40's in a dairy barn at Gum a community just south of Murfreesboro, TN, it was published by James D. Vaughn in 1940 not until his death in 1968 did it grow in prominence.

  • This was evidently not taped in dec. 2010, because i see Happy and vestal Goodman . Or was it just posted this date. great video anyway.

  • @enaomij no I believe it was taped in 1995-1996 at Christ Church in Nashville. If you enjoyed this there is a DVD available from the Gaithers called "Joy to the World"....check their website.  It is a beautiful Christmas editon containing this song and many others....2 hours of good Christmas music shot at Christ Church Nashville
