Now, with Adam, he said the next morning they didn't rehearse exactly what he did on stage. If he continues to to do this, big award shows or other talk shows (like Good Morning America) will not let him on. I'm all for him kissing guys, but I think that entire performance was sloppy and cheap. Maybe in a future vid, he can passionately kiss a guy, make it really classy. But on this stage, during this performance, it was all just "yuck".

I think Adam took it WAY over the line. I mean, he has a wonderful voice, the song is catchy. I don't like him though. I feel like what he did at the AMA's set the gay rights movement back 20 years. He could have made that such a great show, but he wanted to shock people more than he wanted to perform like a legit musician. And it wasn't really even shocking, it was just gross for prime time television. Had it been on cable television, it would have been fine, but not prime time.
As much as I'm ok with people being gay or lesbian, there's only so much that's appropriate for the veiwing audience, even if ur straight. I'm open to the fact that Adam wanted show he was gay and proud of it in his vid.But i think it may have been too much. I'm not trying to discriminate against anybody who's gay,lesbian,ect. I'm thinking of the audience, and veiwers at home. I will always love Adam, but i think some of us were quite dissapointed. (btw LOVED his outfit.)

I do like The Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, & Adam Lambert. Since there's no video of Adam's performance, I can't comment on the details but I'm sure it wouldn't have bothered me. Hi there :) I wanted to explain it wasn't so much the kiss but the entire performance that I was angry about with Adam that night. He was putting on a show that even some journalists were saying prolonged negative stereotypes of the gay community. He talked about how Britney and Madonna were able to perform this way without problem... the thing is, I don't respect them like I do album.
(CONT') Britney's a PRODUCT of this industry; Adam's an intelligent and creative artist that I didn't think needed to prostitute himself (metaphorically) like this.

According to a lot of sites on the computer... he has disappointed (including me) a lot of fans because of his vocals was off and the sexual gestures that was INAPPROPRIATE for TV. I'm very left liberal too, and I thought that his performance was amazing. It wasn't the greatest he's sounded, but his goal was to get America hooked, and he did just that, in both positive and negative ways. This whole 'uproar' will have people talking for a long time, and I'm so happy that he had a good time up there, good OR bad performance...

Adam is an amazing singer. He is also an amazing personality. I love his spirit and his ability to say "you know, maybe I did go too far, but if people don't like me they don't have to watch me." So maybe he went a tad too far, but you know Madonna didn't get smack when she nearly masturbated with a cross in "Like a virgin." The public is just not used to seeing two guys kissing. He's gay, it happened, accept who he is... a fantastically theatrical wonderfully beautiful person. Gay or not.

I kept comparing him to lady Gaga (idk why, or if that's fair) but she does pretty sexy, freakish stuff. The difference between the 2 performances was that she was really creative, trying new things. Adam simply pushed the sex level and slutted (new word?) himself up. He's SO intelligent. I hope next time he thinks of something more innovative instead of more whorish. You know? He's SO sexy- to both sexes. He doesn't have to prove that to us by practically HAVING sex- leave it to imagination?

You SHOULD probably KNOW what is coming, in the rehersals, they heard the song, they should have known what it is about... and i'm guessing that they did. Now, with Adam, he said the next morning they didn't rehearse exactly what he did on stage. If he continues to to do this, big award shows or other talk shows (like Good Morning America) will not let him on. I'm all for him kissing guys, but I think that entire performance was sloppy and cheap. Maybe in a future vid, he can passionately kiss a guy, make it really classy. But on this stage, during this performance, it was all just "yuck".

I think Adam took it WAY over the line. I mean, he has a wonderful voice, the song is catchy. I don't like him though. I feel like what he did at the AMA's set the gay rights movement back 20 years. He could have made that such a great show, but he wanted to shock people more than he wanted to perform like a legit musician. And it wasn't really even shocking, it was just gross for prime time television. Had it been on cable television, it would have been fine, but not prime time.

As much as I'm ok with people being gay or lesbian, there's only so much that's appropriate for the veiwing audience, even if ur straight. I'm open to the fact that Adam wanted show he was gay and proud of it in his vid.But i think it may have been too much. I'm not trying to discriminate against anybody who's gay,lesbian,ect. I'm thinking of the audience, and veiwers at home. I will always love Adam, but i think some of us were quite dissapointed. (btw LOVED his outfit.)

Jess, I enjoy how passionate you are about music in your reviews. I'm a gay man in his 50s and you help keep me up to date on the latest artists. I didn't see the AMA's. I do like The Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, & Adam Lambert. Since there's no video of Adam's performance, I can't comment on the details but I'm sure it wouldn't have bothered me. I've seen the picture of Adam & the guy kissing & I think it's great. People need to get used to seeing guys kiss. Just sayin'.

Hi there :) I wanted to explain it wasn't so much the kiss but the entire performance that I was angry about with Adam that night. He was putting on a show that even some journalists were saying prolonged negative stereotypes of the gay community. He talked about how Britney and Madonna were able to perform this way without problem... the thing is, I don't respect them like I do album.

I do believe that there is a double standard when it comes to men and women's sexual expression but u risk being famous for things other than your talent when u do something like this so early. YES...Adam did ROCK and SHOCK the world with his performance. According to a lot of sites on the computer... he has disappointed (including me) a lot of fans because of his vocals was off and the sexual gestures that was INAPPROPRIATE for TV. This is the way he introduced/ portray himself thru his music... okay he made his statement ~ now give it a rest! Use this type of entertainment in night clubs/solo concerts. REMEMBER: Learn through mistakes-use good judgement!
