  • うは~懐かしい!

    幼児の時分、父親に毎日聞かされて育ったよ。

    変わらないステージングだ。

    最高のエンタテナーだね。

  • Haa Haa, what a happy feeling this song makes me feel. When his album at Carnige Hall came out in around '58 I listened to it and at age 2 1/2 would stand on the hearth of the fireplace and sing all the songs, pretending to be him...what fond memories of childhood, and a mother who had good taste in music. Bless U all.

  • i'm sad that my friends don't know who this guy is :(

  • Honor to m

    y dear country : VENEZUELA

  • wow listen to all those great sounds of the band, love it.

  • Belafonte was kind of like Sammy Davis Jr...He sang and acted, and did both well...Of course, Sammy was a brilliant dancer too...Harry's voice is raspy and smooth and no matter what genre of music he chose to sing, he always sounded wonderful...Of course, most people know him for his Calypsonian songs, particularly the Banana Boat song...I like Harry's music, it's upbeat and you can't help but move while listening to it, and no matter how down you feel, listening to Harry always brings a smile.

  • no nie, co za pozytywny człowiek! ;D

  • Wow! 432000 views...probably more than it ever got on PBS. :) I was the editor on this, great time, met Harry briefly for a screening. This makes me 2 degrees of Kevin Bacon :) Props to Jim B. for direction! If you're at NYU Film School, your docu proff did this :D And please, if you need an editor in the L.A. area, send me a PM for schedule. RH

  • i love this man.....

  • With no problems Immigrating, people moved freely between the islands, based upon the prosperity of the best. It is said that during LOW tide, people walked across to VENEZUELA from Trinidad, in the southern most part.. This song was initially sung in the 30's, was enhanced by Harry Belafonte in the Fifties and was upgraded to the concert hall level that we currently enjoy.

He acknowledges every Musician with a HUNH HUNH and throws himself into it and makes this rendition an enormous success. FF
