Not trying to troll, I LOVE this music, but I'm kind of having the feeling that the musicians don't really feel the music that well... You can almost tell that they haven't listened to the cds example: that solo at 4:08 should definitely be legato.
where can i find that without the interruption of the guy who always starts talking, explaining stuff id rather "google" than let it disturb the music -.-
@garneyreandeol so where can i find that without the interruption of the composer Howard Shore who always starts talking, explaining stuff id rather "google" than let it disturb the music ^^
A masterpiece. I heard it twice live! The first time in Antwerpen conducted by Howard Shore himself. When he received an Academy Award it was well deserved.
Had to turn up my volume all the way on my computer to hear using my headphones. Turned up the volume all the way on the video too. Is it just my computer or is it the video? I remember seeing this video on a different computer a while ago and I think i might have had the same problem back then too.
I don't think so.. Saruman was not under the control of Sauron, but had his own evil plans, which where not planed as a servant .. Especially he knew the good thinks of life like pipe weed, and that he was not interested in beautiful things anymore is just figured out in the films like that, but if you take the books as source it is most likely, that he liked good music, even in the end.. And he was not a friend of Morgoth changing the Music of the Ainur ;)
@rocknrolllives@HILTI88pl haha, that DVD was included in the very special pack of the return of the king, with an incredible miniature of Minas Tirith, i love this dvd, it makes me cry every time i listen to it :')
@rocknrolllives just purchased on amazon for 85 cents plus 2.50 shipping!..... not sure why so cheap, it does say 'Howard Shore Creating the Lord of the Rings Symphony'' so... should be it....
I was there that night, stage right? or is it left? About 10 rows back. It was cool, but if you watch 'The Black Riders' it is dragging. In fact, the first half of the show seemed too slow, and the second half, after intermission, seemed too fast, as if Howard had told the symphony to speed it up and they overcompensated. Didn't seem to have enough rehearsal time between the choirs and the orchestra.
@PreacherofArrakeen Still, it was definitely worth going to see (I came in from Ottawa to see it). I still listen to the soundtracks a lot, and I think the movies wouldn't have been as good without Howard's soundtrack.
The only kind of music I listen to is metal/rock (and their subgenres) and like nothing else, but I think the soundtrack for the LOTR Trilogy might be the greatest piece of music I've ever heard in my life. I cannot wait for The Hobbit films to come out. I'm sure Howard Shore is going to amaze all of us once again with his amazing compositions.
Honestly...how attention deprived, unpopular, retarded, stupid, idiotic and pure and simply not worth living in a comunity can you be to dislike this?
Howard Shore describes with notes what Tolkien described with words. Music is a unique language and I had never heard something written with such great accuracy. There is no mistake and nobody on earth cannot be touched by this.
@MatthewRichmond ah i like the first the best. cuz it just had that feel to it. the introduction to the wraiths that storm the town up to the part on witch king mountain that part was awesome, then the balrog on the bridge of khazad-dum, you're also introduced to lothlorien and rivendell. several scenes in the first did not have the same intensity in the last two films. I liked the second one the least. but i like the second film's final battle the most
Howard Shore is amazing, and all those amazing musicians gave me goosebumps several times while watching this. It's awesome to see Howard up there so excited and involved in this beautiful symphony he has created for the Lord of the Rings films.
