@jabba12000 yes this is my first bike... i'd say your plan is perfect. if you're a new rider (never owned, little exp.) i'd strongly advise starting on a 250, get used to the feeling, master it, then work your way up if you feel its necessary. when i was first looking at bikes, sitting on a 600 and up just felt too much and a bit uncomfortable. after owning and mastering the 250 for a couple seasons, sitting on those same 600s and up feels so much more managable and comfortable. good luck!
Ha well honestly i'm looking to go fast. I have a 475hp car and thats pretty fast. I would want a bike that can out do that however i understand i need to start somewhere and a 600cc+ bike is not good to start on. I've raced several bikes and the 700cc bikes and up start to get crazy fast.
@jabba12000 theres a diff. between fast and quick... the 250 is hella quick and could probably beat that 425hp car for a quarter mile/ 0-60. but if you want FAST, go with a 600... you seem like you have a bit of exp. and you might outgrow a 250 faster than others. keep in mind, the bigger engine you go with, the more gas you'll consume and the less quick it will be... but it will be faster, like you said you wanted. get the 600!
Ha trust me man i have to use high octane gas or race fuel for 450rwhp. Either way 12mpg would be the best i get. Even on low boost i struggle with getting 15mpg. idk what the 600's mpg is but i'm sure its tons better than my car. I just need a fast weekender so i don't have to use my car so much.
@jabba12000 i get about 50 mpg with the 250... my guess would be a 600 would get 30-40 (if you're lucky). if gas mileage is a major factor, 250 all da way! if its just an alternate ride like you said, a "weekender", 250 all da way!
@Sungfooo im 6'3"... and ya, to some, i might be "too tall" for the bike. but thats thier opinion, there's no such thing as too tall! if you feel like its the right bike for you, then its the right bike for you. end of story. and tbh, nothing to do with you, but im so sick of people worrying about what they'll look like on a motorcycle. those people should just stay in cars, thats not what riding is about.
How long did it take you to install the Fender Eliminator kit? I'm interested because I'm trying to decide which one I want to order.. thanks man awesome bike!
@nvidia56 i hate the stock muffler too but i figure in the end, its still just a 250. i dont need it to sound crazy loud and fast, its just a 250. also, i doubt of any serious difference (HP, torque) a new exaust would bring. not worth it really imo.
@juscratchinmaballs yeah perfectly unerstandable, thats kinda y i went with the exhaust on mine cause it was the cheapest out of all the ones i found for the bike
@bluemuscle2 no, its actually really easy...all you do is unscrew i think like 6 hex screws(be careful not to lose them, they come out wierdly), then just slide the old screen out in the new one in. oh, and the screws have like rubber grommets that go along with them that can be a little tricky but once you unscrew one, you'll figure out how they work and you should be able to finish without a hitch. its really the easiest thing i've done to the bike(even the decals were harder:) hope this helps
@mcturk17 you look dumb as hell talking shit about someone who's having fun on his brand new motorcycle... get a life, Mr. "perfectly proportioned for his motorcycle".
@Beast99DE i wasnt talkin shit, its just my way of sayin he dont look right ridin it cuz he is to tall. it aint like i said ur bike is fuckin ugly. its a hot ass bike i got the same exact one in all black
Hey can you tell me how you did the plates... like did you buy anything to replace the back part where the plate normally goes? Did you just unscrew the back part and put the plate on or what did you do? cuz ive been trying to figure out what to do with it, but i have no idea.
@guitars4life96 i got the competition werkes fender eliminator kit and had the shop install it. probably coulda done it myself tho, not too hard. hope this helped. also, search youtube for DIY fender "fixes" for the 250. peace out!
@ratmfreak05 i think it adds a little "muscle" to the front of the bike. it makes it look a bit stockier. i think it retains it's sport look while also giving me some added wind resistance and aero-dynamics...thats why i got it, for your information, not to make it look any more or less "sport".
hey man, i just bought this bike today, i have to pick it up next saturday. Can you tell me how you maintain your bike? When do you do oil changes and what other things do you have to do to keep it running at top performance.
@juscratchinmaballs if your still lookin, i recently bought the Shift Racing Fuel Shoes. They are excellent to do what they do. I got the for $100 from motorcycle superstore. People don't even think they are motorcycle boots.
ah man nice ninja i got me the 09 special edition i only paid 1000 for mine haha only had about 1000 mines on it when i got it. but im now replacing the brake and clutch levers with carbon fiber ones and also the grips with lime green gel ninja ones and also carbon fiber bar ends and sometime soon a HMF exhaust system and K&N filter with a dyno jet kit i'll post up a video of it when im done. nice bike man keep those 250r's rollin!
@juscratchinmaballs uhmm im getting my 1000 this upcoming week so i doubt im going to need the 600, lol. im guessing you like riding around the 250? because i f it cant accelarate through traffic i wouldnt waste my time because a 250 is accident prone bro.
@juscratchinmaballs it's an awesome beautiful ride man. im planning to get a ninja myself. for the moment though im studying up on some books because im a huge noob at this (learning shifting, cornering, etc.), anyways, what kind of mods would you suggest after i get my bike?
fender eliminator is a must. strip lights for bike frame are so sexy at night. halo lights. CRASH KIT! U WILL CRASH IT your 1st 6 months atleast twice. but other than that the bikes beautiful itself man take good care of her
i just pickd up my CBR600RR about a month ago. bro its so sweet. the 600 is alot diff then a 250 youll feel it. but you will get used to it. i allready toss my cbr around like i did my 250 and its so much easier to wheelie on the damn 600 than my old 250 lol.
How tall are you? In a few of those shots you look tall as hell, and you make the bike look so small. I'm 5'11" and I don't think I make mine look so small
Y eah I was gonna say the same thing. He looks way to big for that Bike. It pisses me off because I'm almost 6'1 and I was really thinking about buying this bike, but I don't want to look like a giant on it.
pretty sick! im looking into intigrated front blinkers for my 2002 r6. check it out on my channel!
