I had to get it done in the hospital, under regular surgery anesthesia, which actually hurts, when they inject it and I woke up and puking blood and I looked like a chipmunk for a week -.-

I've still got mine. Plan on keeping them. I'm worried about having them taken out. You hear a lot of horror stories about "dry sockets" and the like.

@JillStrif woah I'm English and I have nice teeth (if I say so myself ;) just depends on how well you take care of them and if you have braces/treatments etc, like anywhere I guess. Sometimes here they get removed in hospitals but a lot of the time it can just be done in the practice x

i'm surprised they even put that headband thing around your head ... well don't worry too much about the pain. the only real "pain" would be the swelling. after two weeks you'll feel like your old self again. :)

had mine out 3 months ago....worst experience ever!!! the inside of my mouth is supposedly small so they had to cut the corners of my mouth of widen it! going to school looking like a chipmunk for a week wasnt super fun either...

I got mine out last Thursday, it actually didn't hurt that bad for the first few days but now my lower jaw feels so sore! After I woke up from the surgery my doctor was so surprised that I wasn't loopy, they literally let me walk out to the car by myself. Keep ice and heat constantly on your cheeks! Mine didn't swell because of that.

@RheaBhallaTV It actually didn't hurt - they put me under and I was numb for quite a while after (as you can see, haha..). I was on some pretty strong pain meds for a few days but now I'm almost all better :)

Hey girl! i know how u feel. i got my taken out last year. i was sadated (if i spelt that right) i didnt feel them take them out until the last one it was horrible. but im still confused a little because i didnt have that "sexy" headband. they just put gauze in my mouth and sent me home.  hope u feel better soon!

Wisdom teeth removal is not that bad. I got mine taken out 2-3 weeks ago and two at a time that way I could use one side to chew while the other healed. I had them taken out a week apart. I wasn't asleep and I literally took 0 painkillers and I can't stand pain! I was terrified but I had to face it eventually. My doctor was amazing. I kept my teeth as well! If any of you are scared then do one side and then the other that way you can eat!

I guess I'm super lucky when it comes to wisdom teeth, I'm just 19 but all my wisdom teeth have already grown out and they're all straight and they don't bother my other teeth so they can stay in my mouth forever.
