  • Does this exist in VST?? And somebody explain why it is so expensive

  • GREAT treatment of the overheads

  • I wish UAD wasn't so overpriced.. I mean i know its drastic compared to the real gear but damn.

  • @wakko1999 The difference in the vocal-part at the end is quite obvious, when the De-Esser is disabled you hear hiss in the recorded wave as the wave was probably not trimmed. When it's enabled The hiss is gone but if you listen closely it's not completely gone, My advice: First listen to it at decent headphones than immediately listen on your monitors, mine are KRK RP5 wich are still crap but i really hear the difference immediately.

    Great Plug BTW!!

  • UAD are wonderful.

  • I just remixed a whole drum recording just with this channel strip, amazing thing! Must-have for UAD owners!

  • the fact that you can't hear the difference means either you haven't got the environment or the ears to know any better.

any one who's actually tried them disagrees with you I'm afraid. and If you have tried them then I'd sort your set up out soon!

OR, keep mixing in your bedroom, on your cloudy monitors with no acoustic treatment with your pro tools plugs then and carry on wondering why nothing you produce sounds pro.

  • save it for gearslutz guys, no one cares, its you tube.

  • rofl :D such a random video to advertise on...

  • Uh............no. They used the Fairchild from Ocean Way Recording Studios as a reference, and A/B'd it HEAVILY to ensure accurate representation (well as accurate as you can get). It's considered one of the 5 golden vintage units still around to this day. Most people can't even tell the difference. The differences are marginal enough to validate the difference in price (Uh.... 500 bucks versus 30,000?) You're right, how stupid am I? BTW the card is amazing. Go hate somewhere else,

  • This guy's like a baby with a machine gun. He's managed to use all those great effects to make the drums sound like crap, even in sub-standard You Tube mono.

  • Logic 8 compressor (Opto and Vari) sound better than this.

  • am I the only one who doesn't notice a difference?

  • you really dont hear the differents?

  • That looks to me to be a waste of a plugin, he should have de-essed it using a stock eq and limiter from logic and then eq'd the final channel using the neve, thus only needing 1 neve plug!

  • Untrained ears without proper monitoring in a genuine contol room wont hear the difference, but it is there!

  • @imperialpod So basically everyone who would end up listening to the end product :P

  • if u pay close atention when the pluggins r not enabled u can still hear the hi hats and snare after the toms and when the pluggs r enabled the toms sound clean no sound after :P

  • Yeah, I'm hoping to get my card next week. Along with my plate verb and my fairchild!!!!!! OMG

    LOL

How many plugs can I use on one dsp card?

  • depends on what cpu you are using

and it depends on daw system to

  • Thanks for the knowledge

  • i listened to the end over and over again and I cannot tell the difference... kind of hard because the only the first disabled aprt is the same section as the enabled parts wehre the sibilence occurs. I really cannot tell the difference. Maybe I'll listen on my monitors because now i'm thinking my ears are going bad

  • Check the "About this Video" box for a link to a higher-res version. All UA YouTube videos exist in higher resolution on the UA Website.
