i just love dogs. this video made me come so close to crying. please, dont get a dog from a pet store. ALWAYS get rescues. just recently I adopted a puppy from a shelter. he is the best. i began rescuing dogs when my cousins dog bear passed. the 4 people who disliked this video are neglecters.

We adopted a dog from a family before they put him in the local shelter. His elderly owner had passed away, and the daughter was unable to take care of him. He is honestly the sweetest little thing. A Bichon-Toy Poodle mix.

We have three Standard Poodles in my home. The first we got from a local breeder, and the third we adopted from a different breeder, as she was to be put down due to becoming sterile. The second, we rescued from the humane society. He came to us very frightened of people; it took us nearly a month for him to feel safe enough to come home with us. Him, along with his father and brother, were abused. Today he is the most loving, affectionate dog I've ever met and we truly believe he is thankful.
I got my dog from a shelter as my christmas present when i was 11. I came home from school and my mom showed him to me. He is a chiuaua-jack russel mix, and he is the cutest mix breed you have ever seen. When i first saw him, i asked what happened to his front paw. My mom told me that the dog was taken from a home by police because of neglect. Someone would light his paw on fire with a lighter. But now he is as happy as can be, love you Gizmo!!!

this commercial really makes you think about what happens if shelter dogs and other shelter animals arent adopted and we need to adopt more dogs i bet you when i went to go adopt a cat and i went into the dogs room there a lot of dos and i bet not even half were adopeted its sad that not every shelter animal gets adopted and most of them are put down just becuse no one has adopted yet but at least some are adopted i mean its better for some to be adopted than none.
The message is so true in this commericial. Help them raise more money so they can feed more animals in shelters. They are currently at 365,000 and their goal is 1.5 million. Please help. And please adopt, do not shop for a dog.
Most positive ad I've ever seen for shelter adoption! While it tugs at the heart, it states the truth. Friend pointed out very good point. ASPCA ads depict sadness, yet reality. Many tune them out to avoid pain. Adoption ads must show POSITIVE sides of adoption! Show pics of HUMAN'S lives' changed, along with the NOW happy animals! ASPCA ads make me cry. I know the abuse/cruelty that exists. Many don't, or choose to ignore. Show people the joy/benefits of adopting. Reap more $? Yes!

The bad part is a lot of shelters have unreasonable conditions reguarding where you live. I live in southeastern michigan, and unless you own an actual house with a fenced in yard, your options are very limited.
this makes me cry! my dog was a rescue- she was found as a stray in the middle of winter in Canada, were i was born and used to live. she probly would have died from starvation or coldness. luckly the SPCA found her and now my doggy has a great home with my family. i love my dog, Pepper
The dog at :25 is a Yorkie-Poo, a yorkshire terrier and poodle mix. I know this because we had a yorkiepoo named Truman that we had to give up about a year ago, and I swear this dog in the commercial is Truman. Does anyone know if there's a way to find out the stories of the dogs featured in the commercial. I knew Truman from head to toe and if this dog isn't Truman I would be amazed, It's really got my wife and I freaked out.

She has the same white fur, light brown nose, and green eyes. And her fur sticks out on her chin just like this dog... I was so excited when I saw the first dog on the commercial!
I LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL ... it makes me hug my dog everytime I see it :) We got her from the shelter about a year ago and its the best choice we could've made! As a shelter employee, i am absolutely in love with this commercial. Whoever wrote it was completely correct in everything they said. It could not be more perfect.
I volunteer for a Canine Rescue and this video really hits home.. Pedigree has amazing heartfelt commercials and what they are doing as for bringing awareness to the public about shelters is fantastic. My heart goes out to all the shelter dogs. They do deserve a second chance.

Elderly neighbor lost husb & dog the got a puppy.Should of adopted an older unwanted dog,save his life & she could keep up with .Pup has no one to run/play with.
Click on,see tree removal job rescuing,5 baby squirrels ,mother screaming illegal eviction from their tree home.RI Wildlife Rehab ,Kristan said put them back later by tree mommy will get them bees oh no tree crew runs. night beekeeper RI Bee society takes log with hive,sleeping bees to a new location. GREAT video. My Matilda was adopted from the shelter and I wouldn't go anywhere else. One can find any breed or mix in a shelter or rescue, of any age.

Thank you so mucjh for posting this, this commercial has been playing locally in Houston, TX for a few days now and really touched my heart. i have rescued dogs in my life as well as a stray collie, these have been the best companions in my life. i am especially sad right now because my stray rescue collie Jessy is in the animal hospotal an Im not sure she is going to get better. She has blessed our lives for 12 years, so i am praying for her recovery..Bless

I volunteer for a Canine Rescue and this video really hits home.. Pedigree has amazing heartfelt commercials and what they are doing as for bringing awareness to the public about shelters is fantastic. My heart goes out to all the shelter dogs. They do deserve a second chance.

Both my dogs are shelter dogs. I would NEVER adopt anything but! If only everyone pitched in and adopted a shelter dog.

The dog at 0:17 looks EXACTLY like my dog. He was a stray we found, but we have no idea what kind of dog he is. Any chance anyone has any insight as to what beed(s) he could be?
