  • ok thats cool

  • did pressing the pigments affect the shimmer or pigmentation in any way? (ie make it stronger or more sheer). Like how cream eyeshadows look different if you use your finger or your thumb, the same idea. I have just discovered this method and it seems like the best thing ever because if you get the same effect without the scariness of tipping it everywhere, it's a winner every time! :D

  • What a waste of the first palette. ):

  • tell me what happens if I use water? x))

  • @lisaprikk2 Bad things

  • The LA colors palletes actually work pretty well for "cheapo" products

  • @SadisticVampire666 am I the only one who feels like that was a little snoobish on her behalf. OH NOTHING BUT MY PRESTIGIOUS MAC.

  • I am so inspired now! I was totally looking at buying the pans and stuff from an online store and now, I can spend a dollar and try this out. FANTASTIC! :)

I also agree with @crowsm54 about reusing the cheap eyeshadow for lipcolor. Better than tossing it, but hey, it was just a dollar too.

  • is that palette really cheapo because my friend just bought it today! haha

  • @tripleCbeautygurus10 its only a dollar but their majorly colorful pallets are pretty pigmented and I use them when im on the go. theyre great starter pallets.

  • where do u buy la colors at?? and how much do they cost?? plzz reply

  • @cutebabygirl101kiss Any dollar store. Only dollar stores... there a dollar only.

  • @cutebabygirl101kiss any dollar tree and most dollar stores. and 1 buck. they do not sell at drug stores

  • im not patient enough

  • that was great, i'm going to do the same with my cheap palette :)

  • NOOO WHAT A WASTE

  • that is so dweird, there is a korean girl called karen and she got in bad trouble in montreal .... stay out of the way...they are clearing said buffalo

  • I wonder if my paper pigments will work ;) They look exactly the same! I'm not much of a makeup girl anymore. I should be, just so busy!

Just ignore the "MakeupByCait"/"OriginalCaitlin" girl. She is the rudest little girl I have EVER seen online. She's not gonna get too far in the real world with her attitude.

    Your videos are great!

  • i LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S, i'M NEW TO YOUTUBE SO HELLO AND GREAT JOB.

  • LA Colors has pretty good pigmentation of an el cheepo brand. I like their neutral palet best tho. The blue palet was a bit tacky to me.

  • 'i spend my weekends playing call of duty4 on xbox live or playing with my makeup..''

your not a loser, i do the same :D:D:D

but i'm playing CoD4 on my computer :D:D

  • @aKilltoRemember LOL! People would probebly be surprised how much time I spend on Xbox...but I really am a bit of a recluse - its how I "socialize"...Hahaa!

  • @makeupstop123 How are the pigments holding up ?..

    ty for sharing your stuff

  • mac is so trendy

  • LA Colors has amazing pigmentation your dumb!

  • @MakeupbyCait i agreee but no need to b mean =/

  • @MakeupbyCait No need to be an ass - if you like the colors, great...enjoy them. I think they are chalky and have weak pigment. Its an opinion, sheesh.

  • @makeupstop123 i agree. there is a reason you get 12 or whatever for $1. they have little pigment and are gone after a few hours. mac pigments are pure color that lasts and can be seen!

  • @makeupstop123 Ignore the immature negativity from rude people like that. They just want attention and think its a great way to get it..esp if someone takes their bait ;) Your'e better than that. I do alot of crafting & i'm not great at alot of it but I do it to enjoy it. If they like it great, if not who cares ;) Take care. HugsssS :o)

  • @MakeupbyCait May be pigmented for your skin tone. I am tan and there is no way that cheap ass shit works on me

  • it's true that LA colors is cheap, but somethimes they have real good pigments! I also love mac but I can only use the loose powders and some lipsticks, they have this ingredient that causes my skin to irritate :( it's shame

  • their cheap but they work. I think you shouldnt say that because some ppl doesnt have that much MONEY to buy "expensive" make which WORKS the same.

  • @LeeLeevang11 I think what she meant by cheap was something that is inexpensive that would not be painful to discard. Besides, there IS cheap makeup and expensive makeup...doesn't mean that one is better than the other because it's all about colour selection and payoff.

  • @LeeLeevang11 they are cheap..as in "not expensive". When did cheap become a dirty word? I got my money's worth for $1...apparently so did you..Yay. I had no need for the colors, I just wanted the palette - I already have colors that are brighter and more appealing to me. Im a professional MUA, I needed a palette and I found one, CHEAP. Im happy with my purchase. I hope you are too.

  • They colors that were in the pallet to begin with arent really that bad to tell the truth i like them alot i have a few of those palletts

  • hey wuts ur gamertag?? my brother plays mw2 his is Cuz Callibrr

  • @PlanetxLaurenx SwissCakeRoll12

  • @makeupstop123 Thanks

  • @PlanetxLaurenx SwissCakeRoll12

  • i pressed me minerals using my daughter Johnson's no more tangles spray. its working pretty well

  • la colors are pretty! cheapo colors my butt! they may be cheap but very pretty

  • is it true that you cant press matte or shimmery pigments?

  • @nicolleesaysxo Really, all it has to do with is the consistency of the loose powder/pigment you're using. Finer and/or jet milled/mineral eyeshadows must be more diligently pressed with alternative pressing methods such as a mixing medium or glycerine. They often don't have binders in them, whereas mac pigments do! :)

  • I cant stand you!

You wasted great high quality makeup

LA Colors is a great brand of makeup

    Really pigmented, and ur lost!

  • actually it wasnt wasted...I use my MAC pigments all the time and I dont have to stress traveling with loose powders.

You honestly thing LA colors is a great brand?! LMAO - regardless, I spent $1 and got kept the best part..the palette!

  • LA Colors is a great brand

I use it all the time

    they are highly pigmented!

    LOSER!

  • @OriginalCaitlin LMAO GROW UP LITTLE GIRL.

    :l Seriously.

  • I am grown up, gosh they are really great brand of makeup!

  • next time you should just make your cheap broken eyeshadow into lipgloss its one of the easiest things to do

  • I like my glosses with scent and flavor...and vitamin E.

  • do they still go on and blend as easily as they were loose?

  • Yes

  • you used an la colors pallete too? thats what i did! lol

  • wow awesome idea never would of thought of that thanks for the info

  • I love the ideal that you bought a cheap pallet from the dollar store!!!!!

  • Great job... love it....

  • nice video

  • i am totally gonna try this i have some el cheapo la colors palletes

  • ahahah dosent everyone??? i mean they had to start out with something.

  • i really like your way since i dont have a lot of pigments i dont wanna get a huge pallete so getting a cheap one like this is so much better thx for the idea:P

  • try using biosilk instead of alcohol...

  • haha i have that exact palette, great video!

  • do you have to use alcahol or mixing medium?? anything elce?

    =D

    xoxo-lisa

  • to press pigments, you can use eye drops! hope i helped! :)

  • really ?! thx for the info !

  • no problem! and i loved the idea to use a cheaper pallete to press em in!

  • Use alcahol..mixing medium wont evaporate adn you will stuck with goopy glosses

  • What a great idea to buy cheap palettes and dump out the colours! good for you! I am like you, I am afraid to ruin my MAC pigments by pressing them.

  • can we use 99.9% alcohol instead of 70%. that's what i have available right now.

  • yeah u can the higher percent the quicker it will dry

  • whats the name of the song???!?!?!? thnxs

  • i just got my first order of mac pigments and i wanna press the platinum but a little scared to lol.. i herd using alcohol it just flakes or crumbles. how did yours turn out.

  • just use 99% alcohol..if the pigment is matte or the reflex glitter ones then ya it'll come out powdery and crumble, you can't press those T_T but the shimmery ones are all good lol

  • the more metallic colors will flake...Helium and the light blue one (forgot color name) are flakey, but they still stay in there section until I use a brush to get some out. Its the formula...some pigments will press better than othrs

  • did they come out powdery or creamy?

  • the alcohol evaporates...pressed powder pigment.

  • listen u no the pigment that u mixed up was dat mac's or the cheap1

  • they were all MAC pigments...

  • awesomeeeeee

  • good job!

  • girl that is so clever of you am def gona do that to my mac pigments. thanks alot fo that. never would have thought of that wow

  • how long does it take for the pressed pigments to dry??..........thanks

  • Depends on how much alcohol you used...I let mine sit overnight to make sure it all evaporated.

  • this was my reaction on 1:04,"cool i have that eyeshadow!;],,, then this is my reaction on 1:08,"huh?!",,, then my reaction on 1:12,"NOOOOOOOOOOOow",,,,,THen my reaction on 1:17,, " oh well! " lol* Sorry Im bored!!

    anywayz.. cooL vid! ;]

    ps. my reaction on 2:29,,"CooLnEsS!

  • Cheapo or not... what a waste. You can always buy MAC empty pots... or make your own mac palette...

  • What an awesome idea!! I love it.

  • Cheap is awesome. Mac is too expensive for those on a budget.

    makeupstop123 did an awesome job.

  • Agreed.

  • i thought the mac and nyx pigments dont press using the alcohol meathod? does this work? or do they go back to being loose?

  • Mine are still intact...and I did this months ago.

  • awesome! then i have to try this!

  • i love this i have to do this as well very good idea thanks

    macmamas

  • Nice to find another girl gamer! :D I need to try something like this with my loose mineral makeup. iheartkayden mentioned that she tried biosilk, have you tried it with loose pigments?

  • Nice job...I'm still afraid to ruin mine :(

  • Thanks..I had that fear too, but Im glad I tried it. Think of it this way...how much pigment have you lost because of spills and the messiness? Ilove my little compact...makes travel and touch ups sooo easy!

  • Excellent point! I just reorganized (and it needs more) a bazillion EDM samples and the trays were full of stuff that drops out when the lids are a bit crooked. Amazing!

  • My EDM spill baaaad! The way the caps rest doesnt create a good seal for the pigment...There is a diffrent method for pressing mineral shadows though...check out Enkoremakeup...the video is on there. Let me know how it turns out!

  • i did exactly the same thing, and BAM ! all my favorites, in one little portable compact, such a great idea. yours look great, mine kinda look like a 5 yr olds handiwork.lol but its all good. hehe

  • Its sooo nice! People dont realize how easy and convienant this project is...! LOL! Enjoy it!

  • does adding the alcohol decrease the quality of the pigment?

  • not at all! It is EXACTLY the same color as when it was loose..only I can travel with it much easier...

  • i love call of duty 4 lol.. its saturday too.. & just finished now i'm watching you! haha.. weird! thanks for the info!!

  • Im crazy addicted..its a sickness! LOL! My hubby gets upset because I play so much...but I just shrug and smile! I get up, clean my house, do my makeup and play Xbox! LOL! Its been so hot here that I had been going jogging in the evening, after the pavement cools enough for my dog's feet.

  • YA pressed Pigment looked better

  • Can you do some looks with these pressed colours? Great video!

    Thanks

  • I have done looks using all of these colors before...the color is exactly the same as if it were loose, but I will be sure to specify for you when I used my pressed palette! Thanks Bully!

  • Thanks :D

  • Hey bully! Just wanted to let you know that these colors work just well pressed as when tehy were loose powders. Its MUCH easier to travel with them though! LOL!

  • I'm curious is it just rubbing alcohol that you use?

  • Yep...just plain old Alcohol...I had 70%, but some people use 90%....I got it at Walmart.

  • I have been wanting to do this also, but I only have samples that have 1/4 teaspoon in them. Do you think that's enough pigment to press? Also how long did it take? Thanks for the vids and have a great day :o)

  • Just get a small palette at Claires or the Dollar Store...something with smaller size shadows pans. Have fun...its messy! LOL!

  • do you think this method would work with EDM mineral eyeshadow too? thanks :)

  • There is a diffrent process you need to use with mineralized pigments I think..check out Enkore on Youtube, he shows you how!

  • wow thanks!

  • i told you it was sooooo much better to have pressed pigments then loose ones...i'm just glad you finally tired it....

  • Mine took forever to dry because I used too much alcohol..but they really turned out great! Thanks Karla!

  • hey no worries, I play Halo 1,2, &3 with my hubby when I am not playing with makeup :-)

  • nice vid

  • cool!
