no he adapted because he was smart and those songs released after he died were songs Suge Knight had not released because he owned the rights to DeathRow records.... oh... and on a side note... Tupac's first album was about social issues.
@Soulfide yeah 2pacs very first album didn't have that stuff on it but the next album he released-- thug life volume 1 when he was with the group Thug Life. and your gonna tell me he wasn't about thug life early in his career?
i know you guys "prefer" the illmatic album... but you also need to realize that when times change and music evolves... if you don't adapt you will get lost! I'm not talking about selling your soul and going commercial.. its simply adapting to the situation.. Common, Tupac, Snoop, Dre, Nas, etc have had to adapt to survive and they all did a good job. This song may not be "illmatic" but its still Nas staying true to himself
@Soulfide no Nas stayed true hes always been about either the streets, story telling, or morals in his songs and thats what he is still doing. dre and snoop have changed because they sold out and decided money is more important to them than making real ass music. and nigga stfu 2pac never changed you dont even know what your talking about.
@mclovin435190 Yes 2pac stayed true to himself but 2pac did adapt to the times and changed and thats what made him so successful.. just like the artist I have listed below... don't tell me to shut the fuck up because your ignorant.... you have to remember.. when he was touring with digital underground, the songs he was making at that time were just straight forward songs and even on his first album. Shock G helped him pick out things that people wanted to hear!!! like " I Get Around" !
@Soulfide and 2pac didn't change. did you ever meet him? did you have conversations with him? okay probably not so you wouldn't even fucking know him. he always had a good mix of songs about women, cars, money, etc. and songs about life and lessons and morals. its not like all eyez on me was the first time ever rapping about that shit so why don't you learn some and then comeback and comment
@mclovin435190 don't act like like a child man.... everyone knows tupac adapted to the changing times and survived as an artist like I said... Shock G and digital underground helped tupac.. Tupac used to rap about being without money, small stories, things like that... and then all of a sudden "Thug Life".. Tupac wasn't always a thug or speaking about violent things man... your the one who doesn't know anything about anything...
@Soulfide i wouldn't say he changed i would say he experimented because if you look at the albums released after he died they weren't like all eyez on me. and im the one saying tupac never only rapped about thug life but he did throughout his career, just not exclusively. when you look at the songs from his early stuff a lot of them were about thug life he just never used the phrase "thug life".
@mclovin435190 and yes tupac did have a mix of songs about woman, cars, money, etc... but... how he presented those things and how he told it DID change and thats a huge reason why he was so successful because he was able to adapt!! you can't tell me the songs from deathrow sound like the songs from when he was dropping albums from interscope!!! he adapted!! if you want to bring insults at least back up some of it
@mclovin435190 when I say adapt and change I'm talking about just evolving as an artist look at Nas! illmatic, It was written, those are two different rap styles! they are not the same album, then all the way to streets disciple and such and such.Tupac is the same way, 2pacalypse Now, Strictly for my Niggaz... Me Against the World. "All eyes on Me" Tupac DID change and adapt thats how people grow.,if you think tupac was a straight Killah his whole career, you need to get your head out your ass.
@Soulfide im not ignorant 2pac didn't change and nas didn't change. they might have used different flows and lyricism but each of them rapped about what they wanted to, they didn't change because of what people wanted to hear. if anything Nas changed to what people didn't want to hear, Nastradamus and Gods Son were both his 2 realest albums, as in not talking about running the streets and gunfights because Nas didn't do that shit.
Cant go back ppl... when your 17 your experiences are as a 17 year old Nas is in his Mid 30's some of that ish from back then is just no longer relevant to him same as Jay
Jeez my man. If you just gonna sit there and compare everything to his old stuff nothing's ever gonna be good enough. Just appreciate it for what it is instead of what it isn't. One of the greatest to ever do it right there.
I'm a brown man...indian dude and not east indian but i can relate to alot of the shit nas speaks. Gangsta shit and ya'll know his shit is real on top of real. he ain't nobody that adjusts to the world he let others know that he a leader and make them adjust. peace!!
@LaidbackPlayboy u probably haven't heard "in the mirror" by nas. that song has a real grimey feel to it, like u gotta be from the hood to understand this type vibe.

This is coo but....C'mon Nas give us somethin for the street. A 'Nas is Like', 'Made You Look' or even a 'One Mic"...Something to blast in the whip.
I like this laid back music, but I want some of that street shit back that Nas used to do.
