In a way, they are doing the Greeks a favour by showing these things. Like I said, they don't rely on them, most tourists are interested in beaches and pubs not broken statues from centuries ago. If Turkey wanted, they could get rid of them, after all, they own them now.

Before you enter the gates of the places, there is always a sign which tells who or what nation built it in history and Turkey has always advertised those places or the country itself as "the combination of various civilizations--not Turkish". In a way, they are doing the Greeks a favour by showing these things. Like I said, they don't rely on them, most tourists are interested in beaches and pubs not broken statues from centuries ago. If Turkey wanted, they could get rid of them, after all, they own them now.

The land that Turkey currently occupies has one of the richest histories ever, and people WANT TO SEE these iconic structures, so Turkey wants to show them - it's called demand and supply (logic). The Tourist guides explain everything, they don't "claim" that Turks built them, however they may explain the influence of the Turks on them, or the influence of them on Turks.

You miss my point..besides these non-turkish aspects of their tourism campaign, that happen to be in present day turkey, what else have they to offer that they so heavily rely on other ppls culture to attract prospective tourists?? Dont get me wrong, I'd be proud that other ppl were showcasing my ppls history within their own borders and allowing everybody to discover them HOWEVER why does 90% of their ad contain "foreign matter"? They don't rely heavily on them either. Turkey makes great uses of their seaside towns/villages/cities. But they don't want the ad to be all about the sea do they? No, so they show the historical areas in Turkish land. What don't you get about that? They have to build it to show it? No. It's common sense.
