  • @dingles615 the gopro is on it's way..

  • Awesome I from invercargill as well

  • Brilliant!

  • How often does Invercargill gets a snow cover in each winter?

  • imagine following a cop chase with one of these run while streaming it to a mac mini hooked up to a projector and controlling the tricopter from your couch. dreams are free...

  • @seargentbrainfry It was sounding good until the bit that involved an apple product.

  • kind of sad. two natural disasters happening right after each other just a week between each of them start. mother nature must hate our country. (NZ)

  • Reminds me of CoD :[

  • WTF you guys have snow in september??!!! The suicidal rate must be high ....

  • @toocoolforu It's up there, I don't think it is as bad as Timaru, my hometown , even though it has high sunshine hours.. Statistics fail.

  • @MSargeNZ btw its a great video! i just woke up when writing the other comment...

  • Im moving down to Invercargill from Whangarei at the end of the year... I CANT WAIT! Wooooooooo love snow.

  • @wackowillie LOL dont get ur hopes up too high! last time was like 15 years ago!!!

  • @littlebittyjulz Thats all good, Queenstown few hours up!

  • Awesome video! - Just wondering...how much did the Tricopter cost? (greetings from warm sunny Virginia!)

  • princess street eh mint i live round the corner, reckon we can fly your camera round girls high hah!

  • @S8in6sic6 Thats a bit seedy innit.

  • Marcus FTW!

  • NEW ZEALAND RULES

  • WOW, that's awesome. Nice range too.

  • That was awesome footage mate! I have been to invercargill only once, beautiful town, can't believe this is the same place! Looks more like a town from siberia!

  • Thats Frickin wicked mate. I want one, Where do i get one.

  • each to their own.

  • Thumbs up to the annoying noise of the tricopter. Couldn't you just turn off the mic ? nah good job bro.

  • man that noise !! imagine if real life helicopters sounded this bad!

  • IMO the noise of the real thing is better than some cruddy music that only 1% of the population will enjoy. I found it interesting to listen to what goes on with the motors in flight.

  • @morf114 From a distance it just sounds like someone running a chainsaw. I was wondering why someone was running their chainsaw yesterday morning.

  • Thans realy cool. We didn't get much snow in Bluff

  • well done .

  • The pilot sitting in this plane must have been drinking. I think Buzz Lightning would love you if he knew you had one of these, he would be flying it to save all his friends in Toy Story. I really wanted to see you dive bomb it in thru a window....eh eh. Keep up the good work

  • @Orbiter007 buzz lightyear..

  • I hate living in Paraparaumu.... We only get rain.

  • @camy205 Usually that is all we get too :)

  • @camy205 thats coz its called paraparaumu LOL

  • what sort of range are you able to get with it.

  • @TRVABL Range is Line of Sight, seveal kilometers with the 2.4ghz radio link, the trouble is since I am still controlling the model visually from the ground I am limited in how far away I can fly. Before anyone asks.. YES video downlinks are a viable option and YES I am looking at implementing a system in the near future to allow me to pilot the model from such a down link. I have had interest from local camera crews to do some more filming in and around the town.

  • @MSargeNZ Yea because i was thinking about steaming from a cellphone using 3g network but want to shure on how to steam it to my PC

  • great video footage!

  • Nice. one of the more practical uses of such technologies.

  • Well done. Thanks for posting.

  • that was brilliant....good thinking guys... :)

  • Well aren't you a clever clogs then! Well done. Have posted to Facebook.

  • how much weight can it lift?

  • @kiwirock30 I'd say comfortably 200-300g.

  • @MSargeNZ cool. chris mentioned he spoke to you to out of interest too. did you just use a still camera set to video? or does it have a video transmitter on board? i've played with 2.4ghz transmitters for video that do about 5-10KM's that are under 100gms. cool idea though.

  • @kiwirock30 It's a Panasonic SDR-S7, pretty cruddy video camera by today's standards. No downlink at present, flying all visually from the ground. The video downlink that i get will be 5.8GHz, since I am using 2.4 GHz for my radio link and I want to mitigate the risk of any interference. All devices on 2.4 are supposed to work together but video transmitters have a nasty habit of smearing their signal across half the useable band! Best not tempt fate huh? Useable range should be 1 or 2 KM

  • @MSargeNZ Yeah analogue video uses much narrower but stronger spectrum power. Modern one's are reasonably good though, usually module based and well shielded/filtered. My 1000mW one doesn't interfere at all with my 4KM wi-fi link. The Wi-Fi link only has 20dB S/N so if it was to cause a problem it'd be dead. Older senders only output about 10mW. Bumping up the TX remote power would certainly help.

  • sweet video

  • that was great!!! love your work

  • That was awesome, what kind of camera did you use?

  • @kapitman69 it's just a small panasonic Standard Definition handycam, records to a microSD card. There are much better cameras available such as the GoPro HD.

  • That;s flipping crazy! Can't believe I'm missing the snow!

  • That is one flat city. But I love it.

  • awesome to see an aerial view. thanks heaps for sharing

  • Noice!

  • Neat video! Enjoyed a bird's eye look around the old stamping ground - SGHS and Rugby Park

  • Sensational!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent work!!

  • Hi there - great pics. TVNZ would love to use some of your material for tonight's news. Can you contact Megan 0272205989. Thanks :)

  • Awesome video. I tried visiting your site but it appears to be down.
