Read Lee's or Steins books they both talk about how they only really put on 10km after they were 16/7... And comparing a pure fast bowler to Akram is a waste of time, Akram was a swing and seam bowler, and medium pace at that. Great bowler, but completely different to an out and out pace machine the likes or Stein, Lillee, Ahktar, or Bond...
He bowled between 145 and 151 against Pakistan a while back. Admittedly he went for too many, but he is consistently faster than Gul. Obviously Gul is a better bowler than him at this stage, but who knows? And as much as I like Gul, I think Wasim should be the measuring stick for greatness - I don't think I've seen better thus far!

Shaun Tait bowled 161.4 km/h at the WACA a couple of years ago. The fastest bowler ever would probably have been Jeff Thompson, but due to the fact, there are no figures to go upon, I can argue that.

He's got great potential, having been timed at 150 kph + as a teenager. However, I wouldn't yet boast that he's going to be the quickest of them all. He's got great potential, having been timed at 150 kph + as a teenager. However, I wouldn't yet boast that he's going to be the quickest of them all. As he learned in his first T-20 internationals, pace can be expensive unless you know how to use it. I hope he comes thru to realise his potential, NZ needs this.

@maverickscricket "good action" or not, he was bowling in excess of 96mph in a T20 international against pakistan in NZ, and that at ONLY 17. Arguably an "unorthodox" action.

he has a good bowling action.I think he is playing for NSW currently.He is not the fastest bowler but only young and have plently of time to become one.

Why do these new "fast" bowlers don't look that fast on videos? May be they are actually not that fast? If you compare them to ex gen. players like Lees and Waqars, it looks like they are bowling around 130s not 140s and no where near 150.

whatever the case is, the fact is both A Milne and cummings both are above 140 kphs, i would love to see both playing in nz side that would suerly strenghten them cheers :)

@thecorneredtigers11 Yeah he is. Pat Cummings is an 18 year old and every ball with the exception of his slower ball is in the 140's. Sometimes even over 150.

@Firefly0100 No mate, Pat Cummins can get it up to 145 in T20 cricket. This Adam Milne is also 18 and he stays at 145-150 all the time!!! In Lista A and First Class!

@thecorneredtigers11 sorry mate, but Pat Cummings is consistently over 140km/h. I regularly watch the National One Day Cup here in Australia and keep up with the First Class 4 day action as best I can as it is not televised. He is always that fast.

@thecorneredtigers11 he's right Cummins is faster. The matches I've seen Milne play he occasionally drops below 140. Cummins only does with slower balls.

@5saghir It is too bad. I am always thrilled a the sight of a bowler bowling at steaming pace. I did see Milne bowl in an International event against Pakistan. I loved what I saw, and I supported Milne. I have special regard and respect for NZ cricketers since they are always gracious and sporting. Shane Bond is a great role model. He was fast, aggressive, successful, yet such a gentleman.
